    it amazes me how well high school teachers explain and teach things. They are the ones who should be college professors. I just learned more in your 15 min video than I did in a 4 hour class of no precise explanations. Thank you so much. You rock!

    I'm so glad I decided to search KZread for assistance. You are a life saver. 3 hours ago I was extremely lost; reading a textbook that sounded foreign. By watching these videos I've learned how to complete electron configurations within a half hour. The only suggestion I have is to name the videos in chronological order so that they can be easy to follow (part 1, part 2, part 3, etc). Thanks You!!

    It's amazing how clear, thorough, and organized a high school teacher's lecture is, than the lecture by a tenured University Professor with a Ph.D. in Quantum Chemistry and over 40 years of experience in his field. His lecture was gibberish and all over the place with constant hand waving and mumbling. In less than an hour on KZread, I have learned more than the 51 hour semester over the course of 15 weeks. That semester was grant money, but it all went down the drain. I feel I need to relearn everything to justify my diploma.

    juju green I was wondering if you could help me... Whenever I search up the electron figuration for Lithium, it shows 2s^1, but she wrote 1s^2 2s^1? So is it necessary for you to write the 1s^2 in front of 2s^2 or can you just write 2s^1? Because Google showed 2s^1 which is not what she wrote for Lithium.

  • @uhmwhy1360

    @uhmwhy1360

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Davis John Google just shortened the answer. Because it is implied that there is 1s^2 and just showed the end of the configuration which is 2s^1. Some periodic tables also write just the ending of the configuration of the elements for faster search and use. She just wrote the whole complete configuration.

  • @ethanp4050

    @ethanp4050

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hey, sorry if this is a bit late. Google actually shows lithium as [He]2s^1. This is because they are using the noble gas configuration. Many elements would take too long to write out so we place the closest Noble gas in front, and then continue writing the rest of the electron configuration from there. So yes it is important to write 1s^2 in front of 2s^1 but [He] 2s^1 is also correct.

This is amazing that you CONNECTED the two concepts and make that "aha!" moment jump out of me. This is by far the easiest way to connect new knowledge (which always seems daunting at the beginning) with the one we already know. Why in the hell teachers don't mention this critical piece of info in class??? and make students life easier??? I really thank you once again, and it is not just a simple sentence... I really mean it!

    This has taught me so much about the atomic structure of elements!!! (Sort of at least haha) I'm doing a science project on flame tests (I'm testing to see if elements in the same group will give off a similar color of light). From other sources though I heard that the color depends on the "allowed energy levels for the electrons". So from this, I tried to teach myself about "energy levels" and "orbitals" (not sure if that part is relevant to my project). Do you have any explanation of these "allowed energy levels" of electrons?Because THAT part I can't really find or quite understand yet...
