This video is so helpful. I don't know what the Electrolux engineers were thinking when they made it so hard to get to the machine internals.

Great video. My 3 year old machine threw an E13 error code, which means it didn't drain fast enough. I took the front panel off following the instructions. The machine bolts are on tight. Lucky for me, I have the pedestal so the machine is raised in the air. 4 bolts on the bottom, 5 om the top, 5 for the control panel, and 2 on the back for a total of 16. I had to find a phillips screw driver with a good blade, then push against the machine with all my might while turning the screw driver to break them free. I removed the exit hose of the water pump and there was junk on the one way rubber flap which I cleaned. Then I removed the inlet hose leading to the pump which is the main hose coming from the tub. This is done by removing 2 clamps and a retainer that is held in place with a screw ring. To loosen the ring requires a 7mm socket or wrench. Socket is the best idea. This hose assembly has a catch basket, probably to trap coins. I had nothing in here but it was junked up. The basket can be removed and the hose can be cleaned out with a hose and rag. When I put the machine back together and ran it, water leaked everywhere. The problem? The screw retainer ring on the main hose has to go above a lip on the plastic tube leading down from the tub. You would never notice this as you remove the entire hose assembly as it drops down. After I installed it correctly, no more leaks. Now I'm an expert at taking the machine apart since I had to do it twice. I would encourage everyone to clean out the main hose leading to the water pump, as it will be filled with gunk after 3 years. I didn't see it, but that would be a good video to make, cleaning out the hose and showing how to install it correctly so there is no leak after putting everything back together.

This was a very handy video and I appreciate it being available. Thank you! As to the machine itself? Sixteen screws and the ring with the spring to get the front panel off. Sixteen. And it looked like there should have been at least one or two more, given the empty holes. Had to replace the tub to pump hose unit because it was leaking - it had been patched in the fall but was finally shot and needed replacement. We could see the two green wires that needed to be removed with pliers (they weren't clips, but could and should have been). We could see the silvery band with the single set screw that held the middle, the head of which faced away and had to be dealt with using a mirror. It was even harder to get everything back on afterward, because the four screws across the bottom of the front panel wouldn't go back in easily and were incredibly hard to reach. We were flat on the floor, wrestling with the clips and band and the screws that wouldn't go back in, for way too long. With a hinged front panel or an easy-to-remove access panel with maybe two to four screws (if any!) instead of the sixteen screws, it would have taken just a minute or two to open the machine up and another minute or two to close it again. Instead, it took at least an hour and had a ton of unnecessary steps: Unscrew the back of the top (and try not to drop either the screws or the screwdriver)! Remove the top! Unscrew things in the front that were hidden under the top! Remove the detergent tray! Unscrew things that were hidden behind the detergent tray! Unplug things! Prop the front up! And on and on. With clamps or clips instead of wires that needed pliers, plus a set screw facing the front, swapping out the tub to pump hose would have taken maybe three to five minutes instead of around an hour. Whoever designed this machine either didn't care how hard it would be to get into/to put back together (my opinion) because they just wanted the outside to look seamless and weren't concerned about repair time; or they deliberately made it hard to get into so either you'd pay the techs a lot to do it or would just give up and buy a new one (my daughter's opinion). Working on it requires a lot of muscle: to pull the machine forward to get to the screws that hold the top down and to push it back afterward; to tip the front up to get blocks under it; to lift and move the heavy front panel with door. Working on it requires a lot of awkward stretching and twisting, both to deal with the screws across the bottom panel and to get things out of the inside and put them back. It could have been designed so much better. In fact, I think I'm going to post this as a product review.

Did you find a video on that? I want to replace a bearing on one. I am pretty sure you have to take the whole thing apart, and unscrew the drum, which is probably in 2 halves bolted together, like it is in a whirlpool. That was my old machine that finally died when the shock absorbers went bad so that the machine bounced around to the point where the springs ripped out the plastic eyelets that attaches them in the drum. The lesson is : when your machine starts bouncing around, immediately replace the shock absorber before it self-destructs.

The bearings are bad, and you almost certainly need new shock absorbers. As long as you have the machine open, replace the shock absorbers before the bouncing around causes serious damage.

Richard Cacatian before you replace the part take your dispenser tray out and use a vey small zip tie, stick it it in the hole that are on the inside top of the compartment. They're most likely clogged. Then spray inside with a diluted bleach mix. Wipe and try. Worked like a charm after dropping the money for the new inlet valve !!

This is idiotic. The show the repairman removing each screw and then later putting them back in. We don't learn how to actually DO anything inside. Moves terribly slowly. Should have been snapped up by a school. Not for anyone who actually needs to do a repair.
