Electrician vde plier comparison and review
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Here is a another plier comparison and review. This time I’ve included two new pliers I’ve been using.
Pliers presented are:
Klein
Wiha
Knipex
Channellock
They are all vde pliers and are usually used by electricians.
In this tool review I look at pliers feel, weight, length, cut and how it fits into a mp1 veto pro pac pouch.

Thanks for the feedback davie, I appreciate it! A lot more to come and always open to recommendations. Cheers.
Hey Matt, I followed you here from Instagram and your always awesome to answer my questions on your live streams on my way to work. ( I’m the annoying Canadian always asking about pilers lol) but this really sold me on the Knipex over the Klein or channellocks thanks again man cheers

Hey mate. No worries. Glad it helped. I’ll catch ya on the next live 🍻
Keep it going mate, u already got a subscriber from Spain! Btw, in spain the price for the knipex is around 30€, aswell as the wiha. They are awesome.

Thanks mate. Gotta love knipex and wiha.
Knipex fan here.Not a spark but a plumber by trade .Knipex water pump pliers are the best out there and Are using the same set for over 10 years.. I have some Knipex bent nose pliers for electrical work which are excellent quality too.

You’ve got good taste. I’ve only just started to get into knipex over the last few months. Absolutely great gear. Can’t go wrong.
Thanks Mate. Very helpful video for an apprentice looking to get the best kit and not waste money. I’ve bought the Knipex partly as a result of your vid. I also like a smaller handled tool. Look forward to more videos.

Bought the wiha linesman pliers and i love them
Just love the knipex also i like much the NWS (felo) , Unior vde slovenia and Gedore vde austria.
Knipex for the win great video bud 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I have Klein but Knipex are better for us in Europe
Where can I buy the MP1 tool pouch from Veto? Thanks
Knipex and wiha are not lose out of package anymore,unfortunatelly had to buy all my stolen tools again so I had to spend my weekend loosening my new pliers,but I must say I like them better that way, it seems like rivets are tighter and jaws don't wiggle like they did on my old tools.
With Chrome plated pliers such as the Knipex. The cutting blade will take some time to wear in, as the chrome will wear off the blades edge. Once the chrome has worn off the blades edge the plier will be much sharper. This is done to substantially increase corrosion resistance.

Please can you try some Boddingtons Electrical pliers and screwdrivers?
Don't know if you aware but you can get the knipex in 225mm as well. I have the knipex and the klein I've done a comparison on them on my channel, really like them both. I like my kleins more now as I blew the knipex up lol ooops
@AddictedtoTools

Aha it always sucks when you blow up a good pair. I’ve seen the 225mm and also the larger 240’s. Look really good but I’m loving the smaller pairs at the moment. 👌
I like the style of Klein Tools pliers

I love em mate. Been using them full time for awhile now.
My knipex's are still as all hell, how do i Loosen them up
I’ve been using the wiha and I hate them they are the bluntest plies I’ve used so far, being the channel locks and knipex.I don’t know if i just got a dull pier but have had a totally different experience than what you have said.
@AddictedtoTools
2 жыл бұрын
I’ve have talked to differing people and it does sound like they all vary i bit with the bluntness which is strange. I would think they are all the same.
Never seen these channel lock type handles before
The kliens are ridiculously good. Cutting edge lasts forever. But the handle is horrible. I took the grips off and put channellock grips on the kliens👌🏼
@AddictedtoTools

Why did you swap the handles? I like these Klein handles.
Curious about Beta
Knipex hands down.
wiha cuts acsr?
The channellock is out of production. Can’t believe it, thought it was the most popular tool in Australia. They do seem to sell an updated version with yellow and red handles

@@AddictedtoTools tried to buy one here in the Netherlands. Dude didn’t had them in stock so he tried to order one with Channellock for me. They said it was discontinued. Pretty sad, I love the looks of the blue grips over the yellow/red ones. Blue is Channellocks colour after all. They also appear slimmer. Klein does a very similar one though, just orange (12098-INS) which I might look at. Still can’t get the hang of the way Aussie electricians strip multiple wires. I end up just breaking the cores. I use a knipex 02 02 225 at the moment.
Wattmaster Marvels, much heavier pliers, but same size and shape. Thoughts??
@AddictedtoTools

I’ve actually been using the wattmaster red marvel cross cuts. They’ve been great. I wouldn’t say they are heavier, but are harder to get used to using.
What is NIPEX?
Aren’t those the knipex combination pliers and the rest are linesman pliers?
@AddictedtoTools
3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s correct.
@danstoolroom7700
3 жыл бұрын
No this is not correct they are all combination pliers. A linemans pliers has a far bigger head and is about 240 long. Easiest way to tell it sthe combi pliers have the bolt grip on them, a linemans pliers have the blades all the way along. Linemans also have far stronger blades with a far higher hrc rating aka you can cut screws and small bolts etc
