Electrician vde plier comparison and review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here is a another plier comparison and review. This time I’ve included two new pliers I’ve been using.
Pliers presented are:
Klein
Wiha
Knipex
Channellock
They are all vde pliers and are usually used by electricians.
In this tool review I look at pliers feel, weight, length, cut and how it fits into a mp1 veto pro pac pouch.

Knipex and wiha are not lose out of package anymore, unfortunatelly had to buy all my stolen tools again so I had to spend my weekend loosening my new pliers, but I must say I like them better that way, it seems like rivets are tighter and jaws don't wiggle like they did on my old tools.

With Chrome plated pliers such as the Knipex. The cutting blade will take some time to wear in, as the chrome will wear off the blades edge. Once the chrome has worn off the blades edge the plier will be much sharper. This is done to substantially increase corrosion resistance.

@@AddictedtoTools tried to buy one here in the Netherlands. Dude didn’t had them in stock so he tried to order one with Channellock for me. They said it was discontinued. Pretty sad, I love the looks of the blue grips over the yellow/red ones. Blue is Channellocks colour after all. They also appear slimmer. Klein does a very similar one though, just orange (12098-INS) which I might look at. Still can’t get the hang of the way Aussie electricians strip multiple wires. I end up just breaking the cores. I use a knipex 02 02 225 at the moment.

No this is not correct they are all combination pliers. A linemans pliers has a far bigger head and is about 240 long. Easiest way to tell it sthe combi pliers have the bolt grip on them, a linemans pliers have the blades all the way along. Linemans also have far stronger blades with a far higher hrc rating aka you can cut screws and small bolts etc
