    As someone who has built control panels, this video makes it so easy, you will not be needing your engineer's pocket reference booklet while on site. Upmation has won me over for good

    @@Upmation I trust you will exhaust everything there is to know as the series unfolds. Just remember to highlight the importance of proper wire arrangement inside the panel. Engineers are fond of running wires along the shortest path without any consideration for beauty and aesthetics. Looking forward with excitement to the next video

    The quality and detail level of upmation videos are out of this world. In their videos nothing is assumed as "common knowledge" and this is the best way to teach. Each tutorial is worth a couple of grands in my opinion.

    Hi. First of all great video. Its very well explained and illustrated and very helpful to us as we have been manufacturing panel enclosures since years. I do have following suggestion: Can you touch upon various softwares used in the panel build process? We are currently using AutoCAD to prepare flat patterns by manual calculations. Are there any other helpful softwares to achieve this faster?

    How to size control panel dimensions before detailed drawings of panel components

  • @Upmation

    @Upmation

    2 жыл бұрын

    You need experience! and a piece of paper to estimate the components you'll need on that panel. Consider some more space than what you are estimating. However, I believe it is definitely a part of detailed design phase and should be considered AFTER the drawing gets completed.

    Something to add - Gland plates aren't always metal - where high current circuits are connected using single core cables unwanted eddy currents are induced in ferrous gland plates. By selecting a gland plate made of non-ferrous materials (brass & aluminium are common) this is avoided. It also has the advantage of making it easier to drill the holes...

  • @Upmation

    Wow! never knew that. But I'm confused; aren't brass and aluminum also metal? And gland plates are earthed, so doesn't that earths the eddy currents? How high has the current need to be to induce the eddies in the gland plate?
