Electric Trains of Tanzania are open to the public. Travelling from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro
This is my travelling experience from Dar es Salaam City to Morogoro town Tanzania.
It is just $4.9 (13000tsh) to travel from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro (300) for an economy class (lowest class). You can book your ticket online and come and show it at the station then you are ready to go

If there’re two things that I much prefer about the Tanzanian SGR over the Kenya one so far are; 1. The seats in the economy class over ‘face me’ the hard benches one gets in the Kenyan one, 2. The fact that you did not queue up for a dog sniff search at the entrance. Those two things alone are enough for me to admit that I’m jealous of your system and wish Kenya Railway took some note to improve our own system. Get rid of the squatting toilets though.

It is neat that the line is finally open, but I admittedly have a worry. That Tanzanite station may be too small. Not the building itself, thats giant, but it only has one platform for SGR trains. Currently its just 2 trains per day so it is not an issue now, but once the line is expanded in the future, I can very easily see how you would run 10-20 or even 30 electric passenger trains going out of Dar es Salaam Tanzanite station in the to other cities in Tanzania every day. More train departures than the 2 per day right now might be needed already since the train is already so full. For that you need to have more platforms so multiple trains can be parked at the station at the same time. Probably at least 4 platforms. That way you could accomodate say, 3 trains at a time, and still have an extra platform in case there are technical difficulties. Thankfully it seems like there's at least the room to build extra platforms next to the existing one. Realistically though the government might need to expand the line in the future from 1 track to 2 tracks to have room for more passenger and cargo trains. That will be expensive but I hope that until then the SGR works out for the Tanzanian people. Also the stuff at 4:19 is not for food stalls. Thats a luggage rack. For people to place heavy suitcases on the shelves so they doesn't block the walkway through the train.
Proud of Tanzania's progress 💪 Excellent and informative video Bertin! Keep em coming
