David, here’s the thing. It’s not just EC fan boys that watch. I just heard of EC three weeks ago when the collab with BABYMETAL came out. I for one would like your usual score and breakdown. You basically allowed the noisy minority to rob the rest of us from the experience of your typical reviews. I love you brother, but one thing I’ve def noticed over the years is that you care way too much about losers in the comments. Just do you.

Funnily enough, their "Heaviest song" in my opinion is also their most pop based song at the same time. Its called Hurrican. Its only on KZread and it was created with 1 sole purpose: to make fun of German Schlager and Eurovision because they didn't get in. Most likely because they were "too heavy" for the event

Technically it is called Hurrikan, they also have a very different song called Hurricane from years ago.

Never seen someone look so bored during a Electric Callboy song hahaha... No but really, I can see how this might not be your style of music haha. I like it for workouts and stuff like that because it's upbeat and fun and I think they make a good blend of modern techno music and metalcore. But yeah it's not everyones cup of tea :)

I had not heard of Electric Callboy until I saw them do a collaboration with Baby Metal, which is why I requested that particular video the other day. Probably won't see your reaction until some time in 2026/27, but I do like your observations and they have helped me discover many other bands.

Second, I am one of those people born before the Internet, so I don't get butt hurt from someone having an opinion different than my own. In fact, I find it refreshing. It would be a very boring world if we all thought and felt exactly the same. There are certain movies, shows, bands, books, and other media that I hate and it's due solely to the shitty fans surrounding them. I love EC, but I know exactly how it feels to have horrible members of a fanbase forever sour that thing for me. I hope if you ever come back around to their music you can ignore the idiots in the comments. You've given songs I like low scores before, but I still keep coming back because your reactions are fantastic.

You'd better do 'Ratatata' next with Babymetalx Electric Callboy. It's a banger and hearing Momoko scream is kinda fun. I always like your reviews and think they are fair and logical.

Basically, Electric Callboy for me is the same as What is Love by Haddaway is for those two guys on Night at the Roxbury. I just bob my head and don't think about it too much.

Honestly I think you've hit the nail on the head. I found out about the babymetal collab a few weeks ago and I remembered these guys from this particular video. "Oh, it's the headbobbing, bowl cut guys with the catchy song, That might be kind of fun". I recently got my colleague into babymetal and later told him about the collab with electric callboy and he pretty much said: "Oh, is that the headbobbing, bowl cut guys with the catchy song? That might be kind of fun". To say that their song is catchy and the video is fun is not a slight in any way. It's accurate. Other than that, there isn't much to say. Sounds like something I can look back on from a nostalgia standpoint "We are young, we are free, sipping on booze on a sunny beach". Awesome. I'd have no problem putting this on a playlist. For those of you who don't like this reaction: As far as technical reactions are concerned, I'd look into reactions based around production. This song mixes aspects of several genre and does it well. The guitars in the chorus have a pumping feel that drives the track forward which makes me think they've been sidechained to the kick. (Every time the kick drum gets hit the guitar drops in volume, ramps back up and repeats). Long story short: Vocals: good Instruments: good No need to hate someone for not liking something to the degree that you do.

Some people just can’t handle hearing someone who doesn’t think the same way they do. We all have varying opinions on many different things, and with the current trajectory of society I think things will get worse before they get better. I always respected your opinions even if I didn’t always agree with them, and that’s because you seem like a pretty stand up guy. I respect an honest opinion instead of telling people you like something when you really weren’t impressed by it, just to keep people off your back.

Parasite is probably the EC song for you. One of their more serious, and heavier, songs.

I haven't seen the reaction you're referring to yet as this was the first of your videos I watched, but I can understand your let's call it disappointment about the reactions to your reaction 😅. I'm an EC fan and I like the often seen reaction of laughter, surprise and so on. I watched a reaction recently in which someone seemed to almost apologise for the more critical reaction he did before on EC and then he watched another video and laughed so overly hard on everything and it felt so unreal that it was cringe. I prefer your honesty, different people have different taste and that's great, the world would be boring if it wasn't that way. If people want confirmation on their opinion, it's fine but they should stick to the channels giving it to them instead of bashing other opinions. I'll check out two to three more of your videos and figure out how I personally feel about it and if I want to see more. But I can already say that I like the sequences you build in. 😁 Still a pity to not have heard your real opinion on this song and video that I like a lot - would have been interesting to get a different perspective and no one could ruin it for me anyway. Hope you can have a fresh start with the band without this experience in your head giving us your review but I totally understand if it's not possible anymore. Summertime memories will never fade away - let's all create some great ones 💛

this reminds of what one can see/hear from other "reactors" about comments saying that "pause too often" and actually react and express their opinion - these people seem to have very rigid expectation, combined with being unable to compute analysis and/or criticism. I, for one, rather enjoy your approach, even if a song I really like gets a "bad" score. At the very least, it makes me rethink of why I enjoy or enjoyed it so much before, especially since I lack any useful amount of musical education - for example, I rather enjoyed Dragonforce a lot, and you (and/or another reactor) mentioned something about a certain degree of monotony in one of their songs, despite their speedy play ( which I didn't really pay attention to before). anyways, through your reviews, and some other reactors, who actually "decontruct" certain elements (Drumroll Tony, The Charismatic Voice, Chris Liepe, for example) , so to say, I actually enjoy a lot of music a lot more, because I pay more attention than before well, too bad I didn't get to listen anything constructive this time around Keep doing your thing !!! Actually a reason I like you videos is because you don't do a pandering over reaction to every video just for the fans. I'm a huge EC fan, and going into the video I was expecting you to be lukewarm on it, guessed a 6.4.

When the request was made, there were 2.6 million views. The fact that the video has grown to whatever number of views it is currently at has absolutely no bearing what-so-ever on what it was at the time it was requested.

EC is like the new version of alien ant farm. No one takes them serious... but this is a somewhat serious place to get reviews of songs. You break down songs to their roots. You show a different side of music and songs that most other people don't even know about. I like your videos dave because its not just "oh the song has nice vibes so I'm going to say nothing but good things" or " oh i'm gonna like someone just cuz the people might get mad at me". Keep doing you brotha. You've disliked some songs I love. You've loved some songs that I hate. Guess what? THAT'S FINE. I like your opinions. Keep doing what you do. Haters always gonna be here. This song reminds me a little bit what was doing Leo Marachiolli with Frog Leap with a popular pop songs - just making them sound metal . This song sounds like a very bad pop song though , like a music from a Russian TV ad , with added huge metal vocals and guitars .

EC is fun, EC is joy dancing around. They are aware of the kitschy lyrics of the songs they intend to cover and contrast it with the most terrifying growls with metalcore sequences. You must experience them live - audience is going nuts. Circle pits, wall of death, crowd surfing, band member surfing, that's all in. Target? To have a good time, nothing more. And they are excellent. By the way "We got the moves" is not in my EC top 5 ....

Not giving a score or proper review, due to some internet trolls! I thought you were better than that. It may not be your thing, I understand that. To not give a proper review, though. Very disappointing.

Sad there are so many people that need to resort to insulting if there are opinions they do not like Oh well, by your comments I can tell that you would have probably scored this song in the low 7, or maybe high 6 Catchy song, funny video (but you don't rate videos), nothing that blows away. They are indeed a bit predictable, I enjoy some of their songs because I love the techno side of it!

I go to different reactors for different perspectives. I don’t come to David for the latest hip hop/ rap releases (as much as I’d love to have him watch Twenty One Pilots latest album, they’re not going to make the list). He also doesn’t fish latest releases. I watch David because of his knowledge as someone who knows his stuff and has touring experience. He also mentioned being asked to play a set he’s never played and spent plane rides listening to learn the music. Electric Callboy is fun and made to be fun and to bob to. I find it odd at times when you bring a fun simple band that mixes pop and metal with surface level lyrics and give it to someone who focuses primarily on song structure and feel and play. Bringing back Twenty One Pilots. If he’d listen to the latest album Clancy. He won’t care much for the music video that’s telling the story or how the lyrics is telling the story (in terms of reviewing and rating). David has (from what I’ve seen over the years) focused primarily on the musical choices and how it’s played or even performed. Lyrics, not much if any analysis. Music videos, become distractions more than help. Electric Callboy thrives on funny videos, zany lyrics and a catchy tune. It’s nothing magical, just good fun and people being upset that he’s points out it’s good fun and nothing more and not his cup of tea needs to understand how David approaches his reactions. I love watching David’s reactions, but I’m not holding my breath for his Kendrick/ Dark diss breakdowns.

It's easy to put on a play of slowly coming around to liking a popular song that you don't actually care about. It take honestly and integrity to say something people won't like.

Unfortunately, this is not an EC or music thing. With anything people like, there are a segment of people that will completely freak out over reviews and critiques. Also, now it seems like everything needs to compete and be ranked and winners must be decided. I'm at peace with and can appreciate different tastes and opinions, but then I'm not a sad and pathetic human being.

Don’t let it get you down bro. Everybody has their own taste in music and people just like it when a reactor digs the music that they like. I do enjoy your knowledgeable analysis on things, but IMO Electric Callboy doesn’t require very in depth discussion like say Nightwish does. They’re not trying to be the best band in the world, they’re just trying to do what they do and that’s to be fun and silly, but as you saw with Mindreader, they do like to show that they CAN make good songs that aren’t silly. They’ve found their niche and it makes them stand out, but as more of a fun novelty than anything else.

Somebody is determined to torture you with EC songs 😂 I'm a huge EC fan, they just make me feel good, but they are certainly not for everybody.

People need to grow up. I do at times think you have bad takes on certain bands and songs, but you're not mean about it. Just because from time to time you seem to totally miss the mark imo doesn't mean I'm right and you're wrong even. People are allowed to disagree, especially on something as subjective as music. I watch to hear your honest opinion. When I disagree with you all that means is that you have a mind of your own. I do get why some people may feel disheartened when a youtuber they like has bad (as in not favorable, or even just neutral in some cases) things to say about something they enjoy. I think that's a bit too sensitive but it's not unreasonable. Crapping on someone for not liking exactly what you like is immature and dumb. Metal is a niche already (way bigger than it was sure but still), don't go causing strife within our little bubble. Idk maybe I just see it different because I grew up being a metalhead when metal was at an all time low in popularity rather than the second golden age it's having now.

Hi DH, it's a shame to hear that you got comments like that. I always find it incomprehensible when someone can't accept someone else's opinion or taste. If we all thought the same it would be boring and I also like to hear that someone has a different opinion and why that is. But if you really only want to do the react part for Electric Callboy then it might make more sense not to do it at all as you have so much on the list anyway. Electric Callboy (along with Babymetal) is definitely my favorite band. I was looking forward to your in depth review of this song. Sucks that you listen to a few rotten eggs, and not the majority. That seems to be the norm with this channel, though. Sad. Stereotypes suck.

I think bands like Electric callboy and Babymetal should be embraced as the two bands trying to push the metal genre into the 21st century kicking and screaming. This is what is needed in metal to keep it fresh and new fans to come from them. I think the old metal that David and others love is dying breed and these bands are the future. Nobody wants to be sad or angry when listening to music anymore, they get enough of that at home. Music is escapism and these bands provide it for people they may not be at their very best. Also females loves these bands and that is helping the genre grow too.

I used to love 90's rap music and I think todays rap scene is ass holes, But I realise time has moved on from what I loved and is something new for a new audience. AS much as Iove David's views from a musical stand point I feel like he leaves out such a thought process. Obviously his opinions are his own I a respect David and the work he does he is extremely fair, I just feel some songs may take extra consideration and added factors?

Please don‘t generalize the actions of some stupid individuals to the whole EC Fanbase. Let‘s be honest they could have done this to you with any other band they just have a problem with it that you don‘t share their opinion. The bigger the fanbase the more you probably find of these intolerant idiots which is by the way something the band themselves defitively wouldn‘t like their fans to be because they are super wholesome and openminded persons. I personally love EC but I click on a reaction because I want to see someones honest opinion. Of course I prefer seeing someone enjoy the same thing I do but not everyone has the same taste and that‘s abolutely fine and I can accept a different opinion especially if someone is able to argue their point of view. I clicked on your reaction to one of my favorite bands because from time to time I already stumbled over your channel and liked your way to react. I'm genuinely confused on why you would do a reaction video to them if you already know you aren't going to enjoy your regular analysis style, and therefore you basically entered the reaction with an already negative attitude. You ranted for a while that you feel you can't provide the value you would like, so why bother?
