Electribe 2 | Ambient XIV
Музыка
It's a been a while. All sounds and effects are directly from the Korg Electribe 2.
My E2 has seen better days. It's scratched and dented up from tour, missing a knob, the MIDI output jack doesn't work, the power supply jack is loose. I wanted to give it a farewell before I retire it for good (or for now). I started this channel with an E2 video and I have quite fond memories of making music with it. 6 years ago feels like a lifetime.
Thank you for listening/watching.

Oof the harsh reality of my situation as well... There are volca users that blow me away. I just sold all of my gear and bought a Synthstrom Deluge. Not touching any other gear until I make at least 3 albums with that alone.

@Rhizosphere then just stop buying gear and master what you have, but being able to make great arrangements is the most important and almost completely unrelated to your gear
Thanks to your E2 songs, people all over the world have bought Electribe 2.
Ah, the old school. The electribe really shines in your hands. I'm always surprised at how unique it sounds. I bought an Electribe because of you some time ago, and I always come back to it. Has it's own charm.
I would love to see a walkthrough on your work flow / thought process / composition techniques on the E2. The sounds and textures and how you push this machine is so unique. You are truly a gifted artist, thank you always for sharing your work with the world, it’s been touching to watch you grow over the years.

@@rbeny Hi beny, I love your music. I have been considering a device like this to inspire music making without a DAW. I've considered all sorts like Electribe, Novation, MC-101, Model: Cycles. I'm more in to this ambient type music, is there anything you'd suggest? Or a particular favourite gear at this kind of price range or a bit more.

2:54 hit hard! i love this machine. the loose power jack is a common thing with the electribe, but nothing that can't be fixed!

The E2 is a great machine. The more I use it, the more I realise how well thought out and powerful it is. Unfortunately too many people who don’t know how to use it properly have criticised it online such that it has an ordinary reputation. R Beny shows just how good it can be!

I had a sampler version, which was fun but difficult to use regarding samples. Curious if the extra filter and oscillator types make it better as a synth..
@geofff6671
3 жыл бұрын
@@Klaviar11 I’ve got both. I agree the sampler version is not that pleasant to use for one’s own samples. The synth version comes with quite a few extra synth wave forms and filter emulations, which gives it a bit more synth variety. But I wouldn’t say it is vastly different to the sampler version. The sampler version has all the basics waveforms covered and I think in practice you are unlikely to miss not be able to change the synth filter from say Electribe, to an MS20 emulation.

@@geofff6671 Thanks. Yes, it was quite nice machine and the sequencer-effects (steps shuffle, etc) are quite subtle and original feature. Loops made on it were nice, but I was struggling with it for finishing tracks (common issue with a hardware)

@@geofff6671 There still isn't a manual for this thing. The product launch was sketchy and they dropped all support shortly after. So I don't blame anyone for avoiding this thing.
So great to hear another ambient track on the Electribe 2 again! Love it!
this is so incredible man please never stop making these if you can
Love to see the electribe back again 🤪
You are such an inspiration, thank you for the music!
I'm speechless: absolutely great!!!
Gorgeous!
Old school Beny, I still listen to your Electribe stuff from time to time, got a playlist from agesss ago! Breath taking track dude
This is SOOO good!, you blew me away in the middle! I have to admit, E2 is my favourite instrument and you prove this right! 🤩
This is absolutely delightful... great music full of feelings! Thank you so much for sharing :)
Beautiful.
Love this. Man, you are certainly a magician! You have done wonderful things with this, I'm a very big fan of your E2 songs.
Your E2 videos , are my favorite E2 videos. Almost got me to buy one. Thank you for what you do.
Rings like a bell... beautiful
Great to see a new upload from you r beny and, as always, an inspiration, thank you.
Your music has helped me work from home during the pandemic, don't stop.
Wow, a complete atmosphere in a box...love it! 🎹 🎶 😎
I bought my E2 because of these videos! Thank you for the inspiration and keep doing what you're doing!
Thanks for getting the old Electribe a last spin. Your work on this neat little box has been an inspiration and made me get one for myself once I realized it's not only good for house music.
I discovered your channel with the Electribe 2 ambients :) Glad to see it one last time
Wow that change awesome. Amazing piece of kit.
Great to see you back r beny and love your new upload 👌
bless that little box. And bless you r beny 🤠🙏 thx for the ride.
Brilliant as always ! I bought my E2 and make music with it because of your videos ! Huge thanks and bravo from Paris France
Man! Fabulous work!
Your videos inspired me to continue working with my Electribe. Love your videos
After listening to this, I feel like I've ascended to a higher form of existence. This is incredible, and I hope to become even half as good as you are one day. This is exactly the style of music I want to make...just wish I was better at playing. :D
Man this track is amazing, like everything you do, you are such an inspiration to me. I bought a Digitone because I wanted to "sounds" Like you but then I realized that it wasn't about the instrument. Your music is so unique, it doesn't matter what synth or instrument you use ❤
It's very moving to hear your magical E2 again... it reminds us how the radicality of technological minimalism can open unsuspected doors.
Holy sounds.. I love this.
I don't know why, but E2 is the one of my favourite pieces of gear. I've sold almost all of my Electrons, another synths, but Electribe is still here. This box has its own character. You and Millolab know how to free the full magic of it!

MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN you do make some lovely sounds from your gear. Great stuff!!
I am fascinated with your by your ability to take advantage of Electribe 2. It's wonderful
omg excited to give this a listen.
I learn so much from just watching your E2 videos, but what is most charming is that you use the E2 for ambient music. I love your embrace of this musical style. I am not a dance/club music kind of person, and its nice to see this "groove box" used for this form of music. You, sir, break the intentions with these videos/songs. I cant thank you enough for your posts. You make me run back and dust off my E2sampler every time!
2.54 is pure joy to my ears, great great great work!
As many people here, I also bought an E2 because of your videos (probably the videos I have watched the most in the whole KZread). Korg should put you on their payroll. Thank you very much for another beautiful piece of music.
Please don't retire it yet! I bought mine on the strength of watching what you do with your E2. Always inspiring to watch how you tease layer upon layer of joy out of this little box. It just needs a bit of simple repair work, doesn't it? Thanks for all your uploads anyway. You make a lot of people smile :o)
I bought an E2 because of you too. You are the best man.
God damn man, absolutely perfect
That is some beautiful ambient from a hard worn synth. I hope you breathe life into the little box again someday.

Simply amazing. What you do here on this little guy is others do with four 104hp rows of eurorack. Not only impressive massive sound but that sweet modulated melody, omg.
Back than, It was you who showed me E2 could be more than an EDM machine. Bought it right after seeing one of your ambient performances. Still amazes me what you can do with it though!
Great work!

Thanks for sharing. Beautiful ambient music. I lost all my instruments in a fire and have been bidding a kind of farewell to them also. I am planning to start fresh with a very minimalist set for Ambient Minimalism. I think it is all the learning we get from every act of creation that stays with us.

I know it might be superfluous to say, but don't ever give up on the ES2 mate - your performances on it are literally the reason why I got into electronic music. I can only catch a glimpse, but I know there is a special kind of oneness you achieve with this beast when doing ambient, and it's something really difficult to match or explain...

I was not ready for the drop at 2:54.. It really reminds me of "There is Beauty in Every Aspect of This World" by Nick Jackson which I saw you commented on back in 2017 which is also one of my favourite ambient videos on youtube. I suspect I will be coming back to this video a lot in the years to come.

Super Dope!!
i also bought an electribe2 may 2015, it was great to hear someone else find their own direction with it while i was finding mine. btw my power supply jack was super janky after 3 years, flickering between powered and unpowered. bought a replacement part, took it to a friend to solder and he noticed that the solder was just loose and redid it with the original part so it might be rather painless!
