A pack of vicious goldens??? You know what a horrifically bad dog owner you have to be for a golden retriever to be vicious? They're the most popular breed in North America for a reason, it's in their DNA to be good boys... Can't even imagine how awful those conditions have to be to turn a docile, goofy breed like that into an aggressive dangerous dog. Such a shame.

Packing changes all breeds of canines.I don't care for the breed myself because I always feel there is something missing in the quality of them. They are like French bulldogs which are also a cult breed.

YES! We have a member who squatted for 3 years in the house in which she lives. Cost the homeowner tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. Judge let her buy the house at a "reasonable fee". It was clear early on that she was a hoarder of cats and leaves cat food out on her dilapidated deck which attracts even more cats and raccoons. The HOA does NOTHING but if one is late with their dues payment they will be sent a nasty letter letting them know the HOA will put a lien on their house. My advice to everyone is to never move into an HOA unless there really is no alternative housing available.

Great idea, actually. They have no duty to even inform the "dog catcher" if one shows up to pick up the dogs - just send them to the shelter. She'll have to go get them, then she's out of the house and law enforcement can attempt to interact and get her on something.

They can't just walk in against her will. We have rights as citizens, and unfortunately, when people know their rights and they're bad people they generally know how to flex them. She doesn't even have to answer the door when the police come by - there's no on-going crime to grant entry. She can avoid law enforcement perpetually. Only when a crime gets committed, like the dog bites someone, or etc..something to force an interaction with police.

That would be pretty awful if the only thing standing between the police and our rights in our homes is someone just has to be a concerned neighbor and make a phone call. Not a legal expert though, and while I sympathize with the problems with this lady I would handle them differently. Every time the dogs get out they go to the pound one way or another. They come to my back door barking I open the door and when they attempt to attack me, I shoot them. The problem gets dealt with pretty quickly when you react appropriately and make people take responsibility or lose.

@@DogTog well yeah that would be a crime, and as I said there would have to be a crime to get in there otherwise she can just stay in her house. The dogs haven't bitten anyone, and I've not really heard a good case for a welfare check so I'm not sure what the county is supposed to do until there's a crime. I think there's even distinction between crime and civil disturbance and what police can or cannot do. Whatever the case I just don't think it's fair to act like they're not doing anything at all when it's difficult to have a legal basis to do something in the first place.

Of course Debra Barkley has a lot of dogs. She's taking her name too literally. Side note, how bad do you have to treat a golden retriever to turn it mean? That's the sweetest, nicest breed usually.

Some people don’t have time for that. Take them to a pound at least. I work 14 hours a day and someone else’s negligence doesn’t apply to me to the point it takes away from my mental health and family. Growing up in the country they’d take a bullet and be done with if they were threatening anyone’s kids or their own live stock, or pets. What if I weren’t home and these dogs got out and killed mine or someone else’s youngins? If y’all thought have as much about people as you do animals this world would be a better place.

The crooked government in this county are completely out of control, and they have no kind of overseers to investigate their criminal activities. I deeply wish I'd never moved here, and now I just don't have the wherewithal to move away... from CA entirely, since the state is nearly as corrupt as this county! I think the woman is question, meaning the owner is not mentally capable of handling the proper care of all the dogs. The dogs are my only concern, they need out, and into better homes. She should be banned from owning them. as well as the horses who all need to be removed and her banned from owning them. Plus heavy fines and her dogs run off her property. She is not what is best for any animal, and might be an idea if she has family to have her checked out on a 5150 hold. Animal hoarding ends up with animal abuse.

I wouldn't return an animal to anyone I thought was abusing it. Animal Control needs to get investigate NOW!!

See, this is what happens. When people try to do something about the owner or when the dog is aggresively trying to injure you or a love one, or in this case an innocent child and you try to defend yourself or your child by hitting the dog, people gett all butt hurt and call you an animal abuser. How can this be animal abuse if you're trying to defend yourself from a dangerous animal, when you got a dozen of them coming at you all at once? I don't see the logic in this at all. Dogs start charging, and you start shooting. You can also set up large animal traps and take one dog at a time to animal control. Bear mace works great for charging dogs as well. For the horse mess, you're going to have to get the state and a brand inspector involved.

We have a rescue golden retriever that had been beaten, starved and thrown out on the street. He was so afraid of brooms, fly swatted, boards or the tone of your voice when saying no that he would lay down and pee on himself. We have had him four years now and he still hasn’t growled but will bark at the neighbors while wagging his tail and doggie dancing. He will greet people visiting doing the welcome dog dance and barking. I think the lady who had to grab up her child was embellishing by the “attack and bite” claim. Had a person been attacked and bitten animal control would have been there immediately with the police to quarantine the dog. I hope they take the dogs and are able to find them good homes. Golden retrievers are one of the best choices for families.

Yes, a pack of poorly treated dogs with inadequate food and irregular feeding schedules attacking the neighborhood children is such a bothersome nuisance for the wealthy negligent owner of said dogs. Maybe she can sue the parents of the children after her dogs attack them, because they got in the way of the dogs running loose.

The HOA should be able to step in and start proceeding against her. It's funny they aren't doing anything about this, HOA's control everything on a person's property, even starting proceedings against people for weeds on their yards, surely they could do something about this! The residents in that neighborhood should get a petition going and stop paying their HOA fees until the matter is handled. If everybody stood united on this, something would have to be done. Also, they can contact the SPCA or PETA because they will get involved. I actually called PETA about horrible abuse at a "hunting" dog training center and they were on it and it was dealt with. They don't play games.

Some of those horses shown are critically malnourished, they don't have much time for an ongoing investigation.

Find out how she earns enough to live at this place, and you’ll probably find crime there, too: fraud, embezzlement, drugs, human trafficking, or something else.
