The Velvet sword is a worse version of the st.Trina sword. The Needle however is special in that you can use the ash of war even if it's in your offhand. The best way is to use a crossbow mainhand with sleep bolts and then the needle. I tried it and it's broken beyond anything else in the game.

I used to use only lions Claw on my greatsword, after his chilling mist video where he showed the combo it could do noticeably increased my win rate in invasions. Everything else I tried never worked for me, I really think his videos are more useful if you have enough hours on a weapon to incorporate his strats. Also using items at every chance.

@@landonw8982 he's just ungodly good at the game. I'm decent enough to maintain gold in arena and win maybe 55% of my invasions which I feel is a feat in itself but I'm not ungodly good like Mr chase. I also have thousands of hours of invasions across ds3, bloodborne, ds2, and ER.

The weapon is certainly powerful. My concern is with gank squads. Imagine 2-3 gankers, who actually know a bit about PvP, coordinating the usage of this weapon.

It has no hyperarmor, attacking into it is how you counter it. Rolling to the sides of the person using it also works. 3 gankers spamming waterfowl would be much more terrifying.

You know what's even crazier? I saw some, not alot, still using soreseals and scorpion charms. It lowers your def, but maybe they are challenge runners, so I really don't wanna judge.

A really broken thing about the leda sword is the ash has the same effect as the law of regression but just for enemies.... it got rid of your dps and crab buffs... preety scary

the only downside is it also clears debuffs, but if you dont use any theres no downside, you can just completely negate somebodys setup. its good flavor considering shes effectively an assassin

Yo Chase! Dragon spells also got a general buff. You can transform into a dragon with the rock heart. (0 weight with +10 dmg negation. Minimal but still something) Combine that with blue dancer. And black flame protection to compensate for the low damage negation. I know you’ll eventually go through all builds. But I look forward to seeing you cook as a dragon 🐉

Chase I love your vids always have, one thing I would recommend though is to leave your stats up for longer or to have a tagged section that we can click on to see them. I've been having a heck of a time trying to skip backwards and forwards to find the stats lately and if they are up for less than 5 seconds than using the forward and backwards skip can just skip past the section were looking for.

I always talk about the stats at the beginning of the videos when i explain the builds. 1:44 is a good example of that. I usually show stats and talismans towards the end of the intro before the invasions start if that helps! i can try to remember to leave them up longer but i feel like 5 seconds is fine for anyone to pause and take not of them lol

this weapon is wild in pvp it has no hyper armor on the ash but if you manage to get it off full charged with the shard of alex and the godfrey icon with multi hit it does massive damage

Try using the taunting tongue or colisseum for some dueling experience. Just takes time getting used to and learning the moveset and strengths of your weapons and builds don’t expect to jump into 3v1 like chase and come out with a win right away. You will still die just have fun and don’t sweat toxic teams and players

Love this video. Two or three days after the DLC came out, a lot of people said the sword of night was trash. I knew they were wrong, but I couldn't quite articulate why they were so wrong. This video is a great demonstration of it. :)

That combo makes me wanna hop on with my dex build into some PvP action

another setup you could try is Sword of Night + offhand halberd or great katana: running R2 is a nice gap closer anyway and then AoW -> R1 is a true combo, offberd L1 catches panic rolls backwards. Great Katana can even rollcatch side rolls so I prefer that. Very fun setup

yeah this thing is awesome, when i first picked it up i managed to defeat an invader with 3 uncharged aows in a nice rollcatch chain. it's just such an intuitive weapon

I just realised it's been already 2 weeks since the DLC!

I found a really cool strategy you should try for a video. The spell Miriam's Vanishing gives you i-frames and acts like a directional dodge, but it also allows you to start casting your next spell early while you're still invisible. If you cast Miriam's Vanishing into Gavel of Haima, it let's you approach safely while dodging anything that would stagger you, then the hyperarmor takes over. You can also dual wield staffs and cast it repeatedly with no recovery by casting back and forth

sword of night hype! i used to do the heavy attack follow up but i had people rolling out of it occasionally. i'm not sure what the difference is when they're able to roll out of mine!

oh chase! another fun true combo is with the new Pata fist weapons. the running heavy attack true combo's into a heavy attack. they nerfed normal claw weapons' true combos but the pata has a crazy fast and long reaching stab on the heavy! i'm sure you'll find more awesome things to do with the pata like you did with the sword of night ^.^

you should try the swift spear as an off hand weapon, it keeps its multi attacks, making it good for bleed or frost setups

Ledas light greatsword ash can be jumped as well. Running and jumping when under the blade of the floating sword, since the swords themselves don’t track. Only firing in a cone shape pointing down
