On of my favorite playthroughs was a Sister Friede build, with frost mist on one grave scythe, the froststomp on the other grave scythe and some black flame spells to complete the reference to Friede. That was really fun.

For my first playthrough I did Grave Scythe imbued with Frost and Winged Scythe along with godslayer spells. I did this before even playing ds3 and was happily surprised when I ran into Friede lol

my first playthrough of Elden Ring was a faith build where I used the Winged Scythe till Farum Azula, where a friend told me about the blasphemous blade which then replaced it. watching this run just brings back so many memories of my first time exploring the Lands Between, thank you for that

I had a very similar experience to you. I ended up using the winged and halo scythe most of the game, the dual wield jump attack was so good.

Yeah I used Winged Scythe until Leyndell and a bit further as well, however I had a dps problem because I spread my stats too far and was too hesitant to use my smithing/somber stones

Pretty similar to my first run when I switched from the halo scythe which I had my entire run to the mamas wyrm scalesword when every boss was pretty much immune to holy damage

42:52 An all ash of war run would be super fun to watch. It'd also maybe be cool to try out single ashes of war on multiple weapon types just to see how an ash varies from weapon to weapon. Putting spinning weapon blew me away and made me feel dumb for never trying that. A bit off-topic, but imagine a mod where you could put spinning weapon on fist/claw weapons, but instead of the weapons spinning, your character floats like 3 inches off the ground and spins lol

I really appreciate that for some of the bosses you did multiple ashes of war, or even no ashes of war to really show the weapons off. I remember some people had issues with the daggers only run cuz they felt it was more "glintblade phalanx only". But this was great!

I'm so excited to see what you ended up doing with scythes! I got the Grave Scythe really early by chance, I fell in love, and I've made it my weapon for the run. I'm in Farum Azula now, so this might help me find ways to improve my build before facing the Godskin Duo.

I think I'm going to try this after all. I've been experimenting with beginning builds, but this looks the coolest. You inspired me to do a whip build, which I deemed a Kurama build, from Yu Yu Hakusho.

Flail is broken, scythe is broken, swords, shields,bows everything is broken 😂😂😂

Yeah with the build variety in this game, the buffs that you can apply, the equip-able ashes of war, and how almost every weapon class has at least one BS representative, yeah almost everything can be broken.

@@skult227 I just compare the player character to other Souls games. I replayed Bloodborne recently and yeah, most of what you can do in Elden Ring is actually broken. Like, a pretty high percentage of builds can invalidate large portions of this game.

the double jumping attack auto getting the sweetspot, and the spinning weapon interaction are so great. godkiller flame spinn is one of my fav looks. Try it with the vulgar militia saw as well

2:21:30 You can also put it on a Vulgar Militia Saw for bleed, or Keen Guardian Swordspear/ Heavy Nightrider Glaive for damage.

I've not seen the way you dodge water foul in other guides. I got it from watching over and over in slow motion but I'd also watch a guide from you. Also didn't know you can cancel her extremely fast move. Thank God I saw you do that.

Its my GOAT game, there are some frustrating bosses sometimes, but be flexible, try different weapons, and strategies, and try to learn as you fight each boss each time you die. What moves work, what was too slow or too fast? Its very fun game.

It reminded me of when I watched my friend play elden ring with the peeler and he shat on the blackflame tornado because he didn't read the description and figure out you can hold it

I really like all of the dragon fights in ER. they follow the conventional progression in games. smarag has another fire attack compared to agheel, ekzykes has rot mist on top of smarags moves, adula has a special sword attack, and borealis is a culmination of all the dragons youve fought. its a little jank if borealis is flying on the cliffs but other than that fantastic fight

FIIIINALY someone talking about the scythes, people underestimate that weapon so much, im on NG+6 and im still destroying all the bosses, you can have 3 different debuffs if you put poison on one, frost on the other and they have bleed by default

Because pretty much every other bleed normal weapon can do that? They nerfed the attack speed of the reapers awhile back and the great star/omen killer axes have better poise(upside is reapers dont bounce off greatshields or the barricade ash)

Grave scythe was my first build and it is an absolute beast of a weapon, definitely one of my favorite builds

I’ve been wanting to play with a reaper build so thanks this helped me get started

I did this a while back, going through the game a few times using only one type of weapon. Sythes were the last ones I did and it was the most fun I had.

After watching this two weeks ago I decided to try out my own spinning weapon scythe play-through and it was so much fun. Even got the skeletons to drop their scythe on the second one killed. Found out about the extra damage varre’s mask gives after bleed buildup, combined it with similar talisman Edgar drops, and also leveled up arcane and switched to bleed double slash. I beat Mohg Lord of Blood so fast I was honestly a little disappointed since I love doing that fight lol

my first ever playthrough of elden ring was almost entirely scythe only, since i refused to level vigor for no real reason, and so i frequently used the halo scythe ability to bully enemies from far away. it was great. glad other people are slowly starting to use them.

That hit you got on horah loux and the tree sentinel is a glitch were the jump attack hits a second time its much more consistent with a jumping catch flame it was found by the pvp scene and its dubbed void tech

my NG+ build was 99 arcane dragon communion with occult grave scythe. its nothing THIS HOT but at the time i felt like i was cooking so hard. the drip and aesthetic was so badass

There is a way to increase damage on spinning strikes - unlock from the enemy and spin your character the same direction that the weapon spins and you increase the hits by almost 3x

I've been doing my latest playthrough with duel wielding Grave Sycthes and it's definitely been my favorite.

With so much symbolism to scorpions in items and crucible spells I hope we get a scorpion fist weapon that alter the fighting style to the martial skill in dlc but I doubt that would happen

My first run was Angel Scythe until farum, where I swapped to Godslayer’s Greatsword. They’re incredible as a weapon class.

My very first build was similar to this, double bleed scythes. Except i made it even more broken and used mimic tear to double the bleed procs. Its a little cheesy but very satisfying.

the frenzy grab incantation is fun to spam on gideon. he can't really escape chain casts

i live with in the path of totallity and it was pitch black night time for a good 4 min, it was so cool. it was cloudy so we couldnt see much of the actual eclipse but i did see mars in the corona. once in a lifetrime experience.

I tried this same challenge a couple of weeks ago, but i didn't allow myself any other armaments other than reapers so i couldn't use incantaions, which makes the challenge way less enjoyable. So watching makes me want to retry the challenge.

Winged Scythe was my first play weapon, loved it. release week

Scythes Remind me of Aggy's first playthrough, he spent about 20 hours looking for a scythe, finding the worst one in the game while he had a +8 bloodhound's fang and assuming they're just bad

I use the reapers personally on my main. I’m an arcane build but I use magic ash of war from rogier that spins. Put blood flame incantation on sythe and spin on boss. Super fast blood proxy’s and massive damage

Used a Heavy Infused Grave Scythe with Stormcaller last year. Suffice to say that was one of the easiest runs I've ever had.

i used cold infused spinning strikes on regular scythe, sometimes powerstanced with halo scythe, on my RL1 playthrough and had a blast. truly busted weapon class

Yes they double hit. In my testing has something to do with swinging on the highest point of the jump attack. It's like the drag registers as another jump attack. Requires more testing.

Reapers will always be my favorite weapon. That spinning slash was nasty on Renalla.

yea the scythe are very underrated spicily with pvp unless they nerfed it the range with the jump dule wielding is crazy good for catching off guard

I did an ng+7 run with the Grave Scythe and Spinning Strikes on + Blood Flame Blade and it completely melted the game. Highly recommend

My first playthrough I used dual grave scythes with one blood and one frost. Had 100 and something bleed on one and 117 frost and 50 bleed on the other 😭. That combined with varre’s mask, jump attack talisman, and the raven cape. I was shitting on bosses

I'm not sure if it scales well into endgame, but I remember spinning weapon also being surprisingly powerful on clayman harpoon buffed with scholar's armament.

Came for Elden Ring, got "Don't stare at the Sun" advice... while watching a not-Souls game Easiest sub ever

1:17:51 Sacred Order only applies the 100% anti-undead damage bonus to the weapon, for everything else it's only a 10% damage buff (yes it buffs your spells too while you are holding it)

My first run I ever did was 2 grave scythes with bleed and cold on them, Malenia only took 2 hours to beat her for the first time. They're super fun weapon mainly because grave scythes are one of the few heavy weapon with bleed that can be infused.

My first run when the game came out was a dual wield Halo Scythe run. I have not had as much fun in any playthrough since. (Yes, farming for them was a nightmare)

Spinning weapon is the new "omg, I had no idea that was so good" moment

Fast crouch attack, good reach, good damage, fun power stance moveset with really good jump attack, bleed, good scaling with different stats, decent ashes variety, goes through shields Reapers are just fun man

I made a dual grave scythe build and just accidentally first phased real mohg. My guy couldn't even nihil, and i wasn't even trying to speed through the fight. Dual heavy grave scythes with the jump attacks really made light work of one of my hardest bosses

I used Reapers in my second run of the game. Getting access to spinning weapon and black flame tornado was very funny

I’m on my second ever playthrough after just beating it the first time, this made me want to do a Bleed Scythe build. Just need to know the best talismans

Ive been using these day 1. They are the best for patient gameplay. You can hit hit dodge hit. Regen. Hit hit dodge repeat.

The multihit talismans unfortunately do not effect spinning weapons DMG. However, they do effect the spinning strikes DMG so for better DMG on spinning weapon you could probably used the scorpion charms or poison buffing to better increase DMG.

The winged scythe is so good if ya got some high faith with it
