Elden Ring - Mohg, Lord of Blood - RL1 ft. Riot Shield Strat™

Ойындар

Testing out outlandish, gimmicky nonsense before everything gets roided up in new game cycles. I used this shield a lot on my second character, so figuring out how to get the most out of it at RL1 was pretty fun.
This video also makes shield crash look deceptively more powerful than it actually is. Palisade + Shield Crash is one of my favourite weapon and ash combos, but it's also very prone to gliding past enemies (and making yourself vulnerable) since the considerable forward momentum makes it very finnicky around awkward collision boxes or enemies that like to move around a lot. It also has a lot of wind-up and can't really be used to block things on reaction like Shield Bash and unlike Shield Bash, it's also possible to get guard crushed out of it.
It's very effective when it works though.

To explain what's going on in this video: I posted a video about this earlier, but there's an interaction (or maybe bug, but it hasn't been adjusted since release) wherein some left hand equipment inherits the buff of a right hand weapon. This interaction can also be seen with certain weapon ashes. The weapon here is a Spiked Palisade Shield with a freeze affinity, allowing it to apply the freeze and bleed status simultaneously. Combined with the Shield Crash AoW, this allows for some very rapid status application. Usually, you'd have to hit the enemy with a fire affinity attack to cleanse the freeze status so you can apply it again, however because my right hand weapon has bloodflame applied to it (which increases build bleed-up and applies a small bonus fire damage modifier), the shield has essentially attained a self freeze-cleansing attribute, and can now very rapidly apply freeze and bleed simultaneously. This "interaction" might get changed down the line, but I wanted to upload something to document how cracked you could make it if it ever got adjusted. As for the rest of the buffs used: Wondrous Physick: Thorny Cracked Tear and Purifying Crystal Tear. The former increases the damage made by consecutive attacks (and stacks with Millicent's Prosthesis/Rotten Insignia), which includes hits made by the shield. The latter nullifies Mohg's Nihil. Flame Fortification - Increase fire damage negation. Bloodflame Blade - applies bleed + fire to right hand weapon, but I'm only using it to "buff" the shield. Shield Grease - Increases guard boost and damage reduction. Boiled Crab - Increase physical damage negation. Pickled Turtle Neck - Increases stamina recovery speed. Exalted Flesh - Increases physical damage. Reducing incoming damage as much as possible was just as (if not more) important than buffing my damage output because you're shield crashing with a shield that doesn't have 100% negation in anything, so being able to survive a handful of incoming attacks with such low vitality is very important. The melee range fire attacks Mohg performs would hit for around 50% of my HP after applying all this.

Looked you up again thinking that Elden Ring would lure you back out into FromSoft Land after all these years. Happy to see the hunch paid off. There's a lot of skilled people out there, but you my friend, you have style.

No longer works in 1.07. The native status application was reduced dramatically but it also looks like they removed the mainhand status inheritance too.

You making more content is probably the best thing to come from Elden Ring so far. Now that I'm done blowing you, I love the amount of tomfoolery that can be done in this game with buff stacking and such. Brings me back to the innocent days of DS2 Still holding onto hope that your twitch channel will one day light up again
