Great to see! I remember doing a similar trip over 20 years ago …. South Temple over to head of Ahuriri, down South Huxley, up North Huxley, over Broderick Pass and back over Elcho pass and out via Monument Hut …. Great trip …. The ridge up from the Landsborough to Elcho was gnarly in a couple of places …. 300mm of rain that day … was glad to reach Elcho hut!

That sounds like a good variation to try! 300mm of rain… yeah, not what you need while navigating Elcho pass… we were glad it held off until after we'd picked our way through the bluffs…
