President Bukele won the election in El Salvador by a whopping 87% tonight. Homicides fell by over 92% under his administration so far. He did this by implementing a harsh crackdown against gangs & crime. Up until recently, El Salvador suffered from the highest homicide rate on earth. Now El Salvador is the safest place in the western hemisphere. Turns out, jailing criminals is incredibly effective and also mighty popular.

In Chile the majority of the population (80%) wanted to change the constitution set under Pinochet to change a tax structure that favored the super rich to the detriment of lower classes. The left wing government decided to tack on a myriad of other "progressive" issues to a referendum presented to the people. Over 60% of the population that voted voted against the proposed changes!! Now, a populist government in El Salvador that has cleaned up an atrocious crime ridden country that made citizens suffer and flee skirts the constitution and crushes election rivals. The overwhelming majority are ecstatic. Now progressive "critics" fear "democratic values" that allowed the horrendous crime and conditions to persist are under attack. Any wonder people are rejecting left wing idealism that sees societies crumbling for populist realism.

I met a Salvadorian man at one of my old jobs right after this man won the first term. I would not be surprised if that man has gone back to his country. He was a news reporter who fled because his family became a target. El Salvador showing the Mexican government how it’s done 💯

"re-elect" as he jails his opposition, he might have struck a deal with the gang leaders , now he has replaced gang violence with police brutality and arbitrary detentions by the police as it operates unregulated, on top of many human rights violations, women have no RIGHT to body autonomy, LGTB+ have no rights and poverty is at is highest with many Salvadorian seeking to migrate to other countries ... So while the conditions may be better for international tourists, the reality of the local population is pretty harsh and this Fidel Castro wannabe has not even come close to fix the main issues that make conditions unlivable for 90% of Salvadorians .

Do you know where our last president is? In Nicaragua hiding because he and his associates stole from our country 183 millions of dollars.
