Once it jumped the road it got extremely smokey very quickly. Thanking God for each and every one of you on the line, those in the air, and dispatchers. Heros one and all! I'm so very thankful for every moments effort.

I fought wildland fires.... This video shows what spotfires do. This video shows extreme fire behavior wow!!!!!! These firefighters are very brave doing their best to fight fire. I did the ground and pound; type two hand crew. Digging fireline that's the only way to slow down the fire. Spraying water doesn't slow wildfires.

I just can't imagine. Thank you is not enough to all of the fire crews battling these fires in California, Oregon and Washington. You are heroes. Stay safe.

You could always do dispatch and still be apart of the team. Or supply if the department has it. There is always some way to do something.

Looks like they are trying to maintain the fire line and some flames jumped across. You see them call in a water drop west side on the hill where you see a small patch of flames. They are working their asses off trying to prevent rhe fire from jumping. Heroes

As someone from the East coast that has no experience with fires this is terrifying to see how fast it spreads. Thank God you all made it out

USA, Australia, Germany, wherever there is a firefighter, you lads are legends. Absolute legends

Great footage. I'm a fireman here in CA and really appreciate the work that you do- I think the more people that see footage like this, the better. The wind looks pretty gnarly down there.

We had a busy season this year in Cali I’m not a firefighter but we assist and work up in the front of fire during wildfires doing evacs and things. You all have your season approaching if I’m correct you all stay safe out there

It is alive...fire elementals ...they do not mean to do this...but black magicians are manipulating them to burn an rage and ravage...i know this happenens...i was in a spiritual community for 10 years and we studied these things...we did sacred work to protect them...this is spiritual warfare...its hard to imagine such things...but you can see elizabeth clare prophet and the sacred work on youtube...its been 30 years since i was there...and she has passed away... i still believe in the power of the sacred word...i saw and felt it....

Imagine. People complaining of face coverings yet figure wearing those firefighting suits in that heat for hours.

4 months ago. Me and my mother where in big bear at an airbnb. From the 2nd to the 4th. Unfortunately felt like we didn't have enough time to there. But had a weird feeling we had to leave. And get home right away. Taking the 38 way up and down. Was such a beautiful day and drive. And boom the next day this fire was born. Was quite unbelievable seeing the area we literally just drove through destroyed.

Hell can't be much different from this. Firemen=heroes.

Thank you so much for this awesome footage!! Wow!!!! Total respect for all the brave souls putting their lives in danger for us. I am so ever grateful for all of you. And I am also very sorry to hear about the firefighter who lost his life. My heart goes out to the family & friends of this brave man. RIP

fire dept.s from all different towns came together and did their best...these guys are working their hearts out and doing a great job, despite the fire jumping highway 38. they are true hero's !!

Thank these guys and gals for their hard work. Wish I could help. I'm a retired wildland guy after 35 years and the body just ain't there anymore.

Great video. When you are in it, sometimes it’s hard to get a sense that you’ve lost that one and might as well abandon and reposition. From the time that first spot went up mid-slope it was lost. I’ve certainly been there, battling futilely when the fire is racing up the hill. Looking at this now with a bit more perspective, seems like you might as well wrap up and do structure protection on whatever you could save. SoCal fires!

Excellent video coverage and illustration of what it's like to be the boots on the ground! Heartfelt thanks out to all the firefighters! This is a critical path concerns fire going from one side of the road on the San Bernardino Mountain over toward the mountains on the south side of Big Bear. Once the Fire gets on the uphill side it can move extremely fast as witnessed from this video. That's why it was so critical to hold this line!

Wow, that went from manageable to fire hellscape in less than 10 minutes. God Bless these guys, it has to be a frustrating job.

You don’t appreciate the size and strength of those flames until you see them up close through the camera. Wow!

Awesome footage and really shows the many, many working parts in action putting in a huge amount of effort into this area yet having no decisive impact on the fire's progression. Loads of respect to those who held the line but unfortunately once the fire had crossed the highway it's time to admit defeat and find another anchor point.

I recently watched the movie, Only the Brave about the Granite Mountain Hotshots, and I have a new appreciation for all of these wonderful firefighters who risk their lives so that other lives can be spared. God bless them and their families.

@Hans Becke this fire was caused by a gender reveal party. It is fueled by hot winds & dry vegetation. Nothing more than that.

my crew was called out to this fire and man did that fire kick ass

Those monstrous flames can't be controlled with those few fire fire brigades even 100 fire brigades together can't control them now since weather and wind supporting the fire.. That's unstoppable..by human force

If the wind is blowing hard enough fire breaks & "routine maintenance" or controlled burns, will not help stop or prevent a fire from spreading.

@@dsmom6898 Proper land management beforehand would prevent explosive wildfires. These devestating fires are the result of the piss poor liberal government that is in states like CA, OR and WA. You can't prevent wildfires entirely, and you shouldn't. Wildfires are an essential part of forest growth and health. But you can prevent devestating wildfires that rage out of control and destroy towns.
