I’m not going to lie, when I learned we don’t shock asystole I was.. shocked. Every movie I ever saw with a flat line ecg was a lie!!! Anyways, when we push meds for asystole does that cause the heart to then become vtach or vfib THEN we shock?

Can't you make a gradual defibrillations with crash carts? Multiple increasing shocks over a half-second? So the heart contracts, then when it is at the furthest recoiling, it shocks again. It seems like the simplest solution. Would that not work?

@@RobertBEveryOneK No, it's just a muscle. That's like saying "if you flex a bicep for 2 seconds it will overheat". A Tazer does WAY worse. It's like 20 alternating Max to Min shocks over 2seconds.

@@lightknightgames have you heard of PEA also? The sinus node fires, the AV allows the signal, the ventricles get electrical discharge but the muscle refuses to beat. Thats why it wont work, because pea is like shocking asystole (not really but yeah)
