Great stuff, Kali. The soundtrack has REALLY impressed me. And the translation is super fun too. I'm on PC here, so no Switch problems. But that's a bummer. Launch day problems can ruin your reputation.

It's nice to see old school 90s RPG tropes and mechanics being shown in 2024. If you played Suikoden 1 and 2 day one you just accepted all those random battles, inventory limitations and quirks that were the norm back then. I'm loving every second of ECHH.

Same. The irony is that the devs said they wanted to re-create a successor of Suikoden 2 with all the mechanics that were there back then. And they definitely kept their promise, yet we got too many people complaining about missing "QoL's" (always debateable, sometimes less is more man) because GenZ is suffering from the zoomies and ADHD.

100% This. I actually loved the mechanics from 90's early 2000's JRPG's. Some of the newer ones are overly complicated and feel like a chore to play.

Loving the game so far. I really enjoy its pace and the different personalities of the characters you team up with. I'm only 9-10 hours in but in no rush of moving forward too fast.

The switch isn't that bad. Granted I've played Suikoden 4 a few times and I played thru Spectral force on PSP (Every move had a 5-7 second delay) so maybe I just have a higher tolerance

I feel like cycling between the different options in the menu is a bit laggy and stuttering. Same for some cases when closing the menu and between screens or delayed pause between scenes or options. It's my only complaint so far.

Definitely would love a part 2!

If you're running into money issues, equip one of your party members with something that increases item drops. Antiques are a thing in this game and can be worth more than 10 or more battles worth of gold, and also you'll get other items to sell or more powerful runes earlier. If money is still an issue Perielle's butler doubles money from battles as well. Weapon upgrade costs don't scale as hard as they do in suikoden so you'll be able to afford keep multiple groups of people fit for battle. I do wish that there were more accessory slots for each character. S3 introduced "accessories" that were seperated into categories like boots, gloves, amulets, rings etc. but you can only 1 from each category for balance.

I'm about 5 and a half hours into it now and having a lot of fun. I'm 42 so I'm used to some of the stuff people are complaining about and don't really have an issue with those things. I'm thinking of this as an extension to the suikoden series, too and going off that I'd probably rank this game right behind 2 so far and ahead of 5, 1, 3, and 4. It's a really enjoyable game so far

See, I'm really really happy to hear that. I think it's the mainstream that doesn't really understand the appeal of Suikoden. So this may be a little too old school and overwhelming haha. But I'm loving Eiyuden so far

@@kali-qgames1301 oh, interesting! I’m only 12 hours in so I can’t be certain, but my personal list would be: 3, 5, 2, eiyuden, 4, 1. I think 2 and eiyuden sit pretty close for me right now. I have a lot of love for 4 and played 2 very late in my gaming life, so the nostalgia is all over the place.

Just to note about the "On The Go". Though it's not official on the Steam Deck, if you own one, I tried it and it seems to work well and I have only played on the deck for about an hour or two, but it reads the button-pushes and have not seen any issues with the sound nor video. So I'd say it seems to work on the Steam Deck for those who have it on steam.

Currently installing the game, I'm definitely beyond excited to play. Like many here I've waited for this moment for so long. Definitely going to find the dash boots. Thankfully the inventory space isn't much of an issue for me since I've been playing Suikoden 1 recently.

9 hours in and im loving it. The only thing that confused me for the first couple hours was the way SP works. As far as i know it's randomized at the start of every battle and i think the SP under character stats is their starting SP per battle without the randomization added. I might be in the minority but inventory management has always felt like an impirtant decision in RPGs for me. Having to decide what to keep/take with you in and out of dungeons has always been a part of the appeal for me.

guys should i go blindly? where can i find a 100% walkthrough? does this have legendary gear that i need to craft or find thru lowdroprates? does it also have like a summon i need to tame or jrpg stuff like that i might miss or treasure chest if i dont check corners? a reply would be much appreciated..

I'm loving the game, I guess ya can't make everyone happy. Love the graphics and the gameplay it's so good

Do dash boots have a bug that speeds up cutscenes? Sometimes the characters rush so fast it's hard to tell what's even going on. Also how do you get more HQ funds?

I just started playing it. It's okay. I won't say it's better than any Suikoden game though.

It definitely starts to pick up and get better. I can't quite say yet if it's any better than Suikoden games yet though. It's much better than 4 though that's for darn sure. It's creeping up on 5 for me too.

PSA: if you’re playing it on the steam deck, turn off shadows and enjoy the frames

Thanks for the tip, was getting perfect performance when not docked but the shadows really lagged when hooked up to the tv.

Always check ur inventory and store item in warehouse, upgrade ur equipment periodically

@@kali-qgames1301 Rune Slotting and how to view runs, War battles. II you got time possible where to recruit peeps. you can just show no need to do walkthrough. Resource tips, Egg tip (ez to find by N's Home town). How to set guilds ect ect lol

As a suikoden 1-5 tierkris and tactis this game is super dope, the only issue I've seen so far is how unbalanced front/back units are. I've fought bosses where people in my front line are taking 1-2 damage. While the back characters take 50-60 damage from the same attacks. In contract my units have 120-160 hp. The dash boots complaint is funny considering you needed Stallion in suikoden 1 to run faster.

When I first saw Nell, I thought that was a prop xD My Suiko-brain just went (That's a strange bag, let's click it)

my guy im 5hrs on the switch version and i have no issues. yes it drops below the 30fps sometimes, but this is a turn based game not an action games so im cool with it 😀

Man so far the only thing I've been disappointed with is a little bit of the localization and issues with the shadow draw distance, but other than that, this game is fucking amazing.

I hope this is an early game thing But so far the Hero combo and skills feels kinda useless especially the combo that only target 1 enemy Because the damage done by sacrificing 2 chara turn and 2 sp each (for hard mode) definitely less than both character normal attack And for rune-lens, despite for spending 4-5sp (hard mode) it only do 10 - 20 more damage from your normal attack

Jajaja: STAY AWAY FROM THE SWITCH VERSION!!! Definitely agree with you, personally I only buy SWITCH exclusives and it kills me though.

I love this game and i enjoyed suikoden 1 and 2. However, i find magic Rune and unite are rather disappointing. Runes magic used to be fun. But this one comes with the sp mp thing, which is rather annoying for me.

Backers have had the game for quite some time now. And reviewers/early access folks got it even earlier. I've had it since the 15th. Also there are folks who have never played a Suikoden/Eiyuden style game. So this is a bit of the ropes of how these games work. So yeah, newcomers lol

This is bad game design even for old school Jrpg standards.
