As Mileva became more well-known, Einstein's circle panicked and are trying to belittle Mileva in her research. The crucial point to be noted here is that rather than Einstein being a bad husband and a man, it is possible that Mileva, not Einstein, made the discovery that changed the history of physics. To ignore this point these days and present his as a bad husband and a man rather than someone who stole Mileva's work is to distort the point. We often see people reading Mileva and Einstein's letters these days, but I think what they're doing is just trying to hide the truth. Maybe, Einstein's insistence on divorce is to prevent Mileva from receiving any honors in his soon-to-be Nobel Prize and erase her name from history. and it looks like he's done it for more than 80 years. but the truth has a habit of coming out sooner or later.

I wouldn't say cruel, just honest. He eventually did give her the Nobel Prize earnings which she bought the apartment with. He practically accused her of not taking enough risk but he couldn't say it to her in such a way. She always kept her head down worried about other people and Einstein, he just wanted to go on adventures, discover things, and conquer life. They were both brilliant, so they settled for a contract. Smart people are best paired with people who are slightly dumber than they are in relationships or it often doesn't work out.

Idolizing ideas more than idolizing people is a good point. However, flaws in notable figures can also demonstrate that these figures were human beings like us, they had flaws like us. Hence, it may give people grounds to relate to such figures.

Thanks for sharing this, Toby. I was not very familiar with Albert Einstein’s personal life and I couldn’t agree more with your assessment that people should place ideas in high regard rather than trying to justify idolizing a specific person with all the complications that brings. Nobody’s life is perfect and although it is important to use that a way to keep us grounded in reality, there is no reason to try to fit the entirety of a person’s messy life onto a pedestal that should be reserved for the pure value or concept itself.

Even as a remarkable theoretical physicist we tend to forget he is a human being. We make mistakes too, so before anyone thinks lowly of him realize how this can inspire you to pursue knowledge, and that regardless of your past mistakes you too can accomplish remarkable achievements. Hold on to your passion, pursue it, do not doubt your capabilities, and most of all never say you aren't smart enough. Massive thanks to Tibees for such amazing facts.
