“Ol mate on the guitar with the hair” is Sergio Medina. He’s an absolute monster at guitar, and is in a bunch of other swancore bands, like Royal Coda, Nova Charisma, Sianvar, and Stolas. He also regularly features in DGD songs, and is co-owner of Blue Swan Records, alongside DGD guitarist Will Swan.

Andrew is DGD’s touring second guitarist/third vocalist and he’s featured on a couple DGD tracks

Eidola has been one of my top 5 bands for a few years now. I hope I get to see you react to more of their stuff. They really are a special group.

Glad y’all found this gem, now DIVE IN! They definitely have some heavier stuff if you’re looking, like “Primitive Economics”. But if you just want an epic track all around react to “Transcendentium Pt. II: The Fourth Temple”. Then again you may want to listen to both parts. THEN AGAIN… there’s 4 parts to “The Temple” series 😅😭

reminds me of old Hands Like Houses. Super sick band.

DGD comparison is apt considering Andrew is DGD’s touring guitarist/backup vocals and they used to be signed to Will Swan’s label Blue Swan.

And Sergio and Will Swan were in Sianvar with Donovan Melero of Hail The Sun. It's alllllll connected in the SwanCore Universe! OH....AND.....Jon Mess has a guest spot on a song on the new Eidola record.

Guitarist with the Claudio Sanchez hair is called Sergio Medina. He's played in a few different bands and is one of the managers at Blue Swan Records.

The vocals are awesome and orchestration is just…awesome. I have never heard of Eidola before 😳

I only found this band last week through this song. I've now listened to their previous album To speak, to listen and to me this is very different. Definitely pick up the DGD vibes from the album but this song is more me, so I'm really looking forward to the new album. Great review as always 🤘

Been listening to these guys for about 5 years this song is perfect prog swancore. And I agree they are better than dance Gavin dance. Their lead singer is the other touring guitarist with dance Gavin dance and has a couple vocal parts in dance Gavin dance songs.

This is also giving me massive Caligula's Horse and I'm so not mad about that. As far as I can gather, the leadsinger in Eidola is the touring Guitarist for Dance Gavin Dance, which explains alot.

It is DGD and TDH mixed. Humble Ledger would be on my 20 song ever playlist easy, likely higher.

Fun fact: I listened to it for the first time 3 days ago on Johnny's Released radar but they are new to you, are they? Actually I am not surprised, in mine there was a group I never heard before but the Discover Weekly has 10% artists I know well and like. They are great, so dynamic and involving.

Not sure I'd say you guys are terrible at reactions, if this was really a first listen, think it's fair to have no words (or kinda discombobulated words, kinda where I'm at, vocals are crazy, definitely looking these guys up). Also Johnny, if you were the one singing in the clip from the Mod Sun (I think?) video, ya got some pipes, wouldn't worry too much (I'm sorry if the last bit reads funky, really weird calling somebody by name that I haven't actually met, but seemed weirder not to specify who the statement was intended for)
