EHEIM thermocontrol-e - the electronically controlled version of the precision aquarium control heater thermocontrol. Even more accurate and convenient. With guarantee for highest quality and safety.
With the EHEIM thermocontrol-e heating element your fish get the right temperature even more precisely - in every aquarium.
The EHEIM thermocontrol aquarium control heater is a further development of the legendary heating element and thermocontrol-e is the latest electronically controlled variant.
The temperature can be precisely adjusted from 20 to 32 °C. The control accuracy is ± 0.5 °C.
The heat is kept constant. A control lamp indicates the heating function.
The heater is absolutely waterproof, can be fully immersed, has a dry run protection (Thermo Safety Control) and is suitable for fresh and marine water.
One of the most important innovations is the glass coating:
It increases the heating surface,
compresses the heat, ensures optimum, uniform heat output and
forms a heat shield (the aquarium inhabitants do not mind touching it).
The coating is made of special laboratory glass. This was created for research purposes. It is therefore free of pollutants that could be released into the water. Chemical and biological substances do not attack it. There are no cracks and hairline cracks through which condensation water could pass. It is impact resistant. And even extreme temperature fluctuations, such as those that may occur during water changes, do not affect this glass.
Features:
Precise temperature adjustment from 20 to 32 °C
No readjustment necessary
Control accuracy ± 0.5 °C
The heat is kept constant
Control lamp indicates the heating function (red: heating up; green: temperature reached)
Fully submersible (waterproof)
With dry-running protection (Thermo Safety Control)
Glass coating increases the heating surface and ensures optimum, even heat output
Convenient cable length approx. 170 cm
Including double suction holder
10 sizes for aquariums from 20 to 1200 litres
Suitable for fresh and marine water
Highest safety and reliability - 3 years warranty

At the beginning of my hobby I used the stock Juwel heater in the filter. Almost every year I needed to buy a new one because of many issues: broken cable, always on heating, no heating... When I bought a Jäger from Eheim and placed it freely in the tank, all my issues disappeared. Now I have it at least 8 years still going strong :D The only issue I have is water condensation inside the heater, but is understandable after so much time.

Hi! Thank you so much for making the review! I ended up getting the Thermocontrol. I have a question that's been concerning me. When I was doing water changes, I accidentally left the water below the "minimum waterlevel" line for a few hours, but the glass tube was still fully submerged. Is this ok? Only 1/4th of an inch was exposed to the air, so I'm not sure if that was enough to trigger dry-running protection. Should my heater still be fine? I'm worried of any potential problems like residue or cracks. Thank you for your time!

And watched this one as well! Thank you. I have one question: Does the Thermocontrol E get moisture inside over time? I have a Jager which has some moisture visible inside the heater, this has happened to a lot of my heaters, so much so that I consider it quite normal but it would be great if the new E model doesn't get this issue, thanks!

Great comparison! However bad tip on buying the higher watt heater of the same price. You want the appropriate watt heater for your tank, which is why they make different wattages! Oversized wattage can heat up your tank faster and cook your aquarium. In instances of heater malfunction, correct sizing have less chance of doing so because it takes longer to add heat-ideally one should get the lowest watt needed to heat the tank to desire temp. Moreover, appropriate watt heaters will last longer because it is not constantly turning on and off!-reason for heater failure according to Corey from aquarium coop.
