Would it be an issue if it be an issue if I used the 150 W version of this heater in a 100L tank? also can I connect to it remotely? from what I can see I can only connect to it from the local wireless network.

Not fit for purpose IMO. Won't fit in sump as heater has to be vertical, and it's too long for a sump; it's impossible to connect to smartphone; dated software (i.e via not via an app). Connection simply doesn't work. Just terrible.

You sound like a troll... First off it has to be vertical so the wifi antenna is out of the water. Water absorbs EM radiation very effectively. The only other option would have have been an external antenna but that would have meant another leak point. Second your complaint about it being too long is... baffling. It's no longer than any other heater of this style. It's length is a function of how many coils it has and how much heat(btu/h) it can produce. Get a bigger sump if it's such a big deal for you? And third it has no problem connecting to a smartphone as long as you can connect your smart phone to your wifi network. Just because it uses a local web interface doesn't mean the 'software' is out of date. Nearly all professional grade network equipment uses this exact type of setup for management. It's simple, effective, doesn't rely on a poorly designed app that might get abandoned, the cloud, no accounts and best of all almost no chance of it ever getting hacked via a web api. 100% local control. If you need to control it remotely, use a VPN, your fish will thank you. And home assistant already has a custom integration in development which means this and all of their other wifi devices can be controlled and monitored from one's home automation. @eheim, thank you for bucking the trend of forcing accounts and cloud connections on every IOT device.
