now I think there must be a connection with the staff becoming sperpents. Because it could be a foreshadowing of how the pharaoh said his wizards (gods) could do the exact things as Moses's God can, then Moses's staff (serpent) eats their serpents, foreshadowing how Moses's God will devour and destroy the pharaoh's gods.

I always wondered if the Nile being turned to blood was God's response to the Egyptians slaughtering the Hebrew children earlier in the book of Exodus.

Pat, that is an interesting thought. We all have a lot of questions, and I do not want to be presumptuous and say that I know all the thoughts and reasons God has. Except for what we can dig out of the Bible, and what archaeologists (and historians, scientists, and theologians) have dug up, we can only speculate. I think God did what was needed to impress the Hebrews and the Egyptians enough to let his people go.

I felt like the only person that didn't know God used the false gods attributes against themselves. I always wondered why he choose to use the things he did like frogs, lice, etc. Now, I know it's the false gods but I also did not know their names. I've often wondered if God is going to use these same plagues during his wrath.

Fact is, Ahmose I of the 18th Dynasty was instrumental in the expulsion of Asiatic foreigners or desert nomads "Aamw/Aam3 (Hyksos)" who in the 3rd Intermediate Period of anarchy, chaos and lack of a centralised kingship had ursurped power in Lower Km.t (Egypt) by these foreigners, fortune seekers, refugees. The expulsion of these foreigners was then falsified to appear as an exodus. Evidence of such expulsion is clearly engraved on the walls of temple in Edfu .

Y would you like to believe that? Y would the "gods" inflict such plagues on their worshippers? Y not just punish pharoah instead punishing every single Egyptian? Why would they want to kill all the first borns in Egypt? Note that the isrealites did not experience these plagues because Almighty God protected them in that same land of Egypt. So y would you choose to believe a lie instead of the truth?

Sir I mean no disrespect, but there is no such thing as 5500 BC only about 4000 BC is when Adam and Eve lived. The Bible gives a clear lineage from Adam to Jesus. And the years you are suggesting do not add up to the Biblical timeline. God bless you sir, I mean no disrespect

Hi, thank you for your comment. I know that there are different opinions on the age of the earth, and most Christians lean towards finding a view that neither disrespects the Bible, nor science. Even the last pope said that God’s word (the bible) and God’s works (nature & science) should not contradict each other. Through the ages we have gone from a flat earth and a universe where the sun moves around the earth to a round earth, where the earth is the one revolving the sun. The church has fought the scientific truths many times, but if science and faith contradict each other, there is either an erroneous faith or science. Luckily this does not affect our salvation. The age of the earth does not concern the inspiration of the Bible, but only its interpretation. I know the reasons behind young earth theories, and I think the science and theology are faulty. But since the Irish bishop Ussher did the math some 400 years ago, some people (especially in some denominations in the USA) have been taught his theory as a fact. Most Christians have a different view.

Although a lot of people think the moment our dating system transitioned from BC to AD is when Christ was born it's actually believed by scholars that Jesus was born somewhere between 4 and 6 BC. Also after Jesus was born Joseph was warned by God that Herod wanted to kill Jesus and so they were told to flee to Egypt. Now I'm not certain if it was 6 BC, but it was probably in that 6-4 BC period.

All fake, the entire bible. There were thousands of egyptian deities. You forget Anubis,Hathor,Set,Osiris,Isis,Horus,Sobek,Sekhmet. Those are major egyptian gods and yahweh the midianite shasu volcano god and canaanite god of mettalurgy and israelite god of war and desert storms who was one of the lesser deities in the canaanite pantheon somehow defeats the Egyptian gods? In 2nd kings the god of Moab defeats yahweh. The land of Israel aka canaan was an egyptian colony for much longer and closer to today than the alleged exodus from egypt. To this day as of now there are still egyptian temples in Israel.
