Thank you very much for the view of everything out of the engine bay. This video gave me a better idea of how I am going to have to work around things with the engine in the car to replace this valve.

Hi Mr. Finn, I recently did this on my son's 1997 Camry. EGR valve had escessive carbon build up. Cleaned the carbon, engine runs better and feels like it has more power. Thank you for your informative videos.

You are one lucky SOB. We can't get rid of the p0401 regardless of what we do. This video has it right about pulling the motor, becasue there is no way of getting to that tube without completely removing the motor. Our Camry has only 139K miles on it, and so far it has been impossible to get it going, or even get it through emissions. We'll never go Toyota ever again, becasue this EGR system was designed to fail.

That last sensor you showed is the VSV. I wish you showed which vacuum lines hook up to which nipples because I’m trying to figure out where they go

Hi, there is no EGR in Corolla.

Thanks.. I understand I need to get the air filter assembly out, and the throttle assembly out as well. The distributor cap would also be a great thing to remove; however, I just installed a new one and didn't want to take that off. My P0401 code went away after I put on a new VS53 Engine Control and did NOT spend the $400 on an EGR valve like the mechanic wanted me to do. If I need to remove the egr just let me know what tool I need to remove it, please. Is there a specific shaped tool that works best, or just use one to remove from the underside? 1996 Camry... 165,000 miles

tengo un toyata camry año 92, el problema consume mucha gasolina y las manguera de vacío de las 2 válvulas pueden estar mal conectadas y desconozco como van creo q puede ayudarme con un diagrama
