    I wish ego would make a commercial 30" mower with at least 25 foot pound of torque and metal deck.

  • @ryeguy01

    @ryeguy01

    A metal deck is just added weight which will lower battery life. It also has less durability and is prone to rust. Agree on the size though.

    I have the speed IQ. My yard is about a third of an acre with a hilly backyard. Speed IQ has a learning curve. You can’t manhandle it like you do your heavy gas mower. Push it like you would a stroller with your newborn in it. It’s like you use your hands to let it know how fast to go and then just walk behind It. Took me mowing about half my yard before I felt I had the hang of it when pushing-pulling, turning around etc. I love this mower it’s so light and cuts so well I had about 51% battery left when I was done with my yard.

    Ok... Honest review and my opinion only from a first time experience. This is my first venture into battery powered mowers. I just bought and used my brand new LM2167SP. I was using a 29 year old Toro Personal Pace mower that has proven to be a great mower. Has a few broken and rusted things (my neglect over the years) on it so I decided to make the switch. Pros: 1. Lightweight; 2. mowed my (good sized) yard and still had 55% battery left; 3. Much quieter than a gas mower; 4. No gas and oil to worry about. 5. The bagging system works great but fills quickly when using the mulching blades. Going to change the blades out for my next trial. I am debating returning it if I don't get that "vibe" that us weekend grass warriors get when mowing our yards. Cons: EGO, if you are listening, the Speed IQ function is crap! There are lots of similar reviews like this. It needs to be re-engineered or if it was software based, needs a critical update. It jerks the user all over the place and pops wheelies like it has a mind of its own as if someone has a remote control and playing a joke on you. My 29 year old Toro system worked fantastic as the personal pace function worked like a hand controlled variable speed unit. But I wanted to try the battery route... This EGO is a $1,000.00 lawnmower versus my 29 year old $400 Toro. Disappointed right now... Trying to give it a chance... And EGO... I bought your new IQ feed string trimmer and blower as well... Pros and cons of those will be posted on their perspective sites around here somewhere. I REALLY want these new things to work. Not there yet...

    Nope. This model ain’t for me, and I was NOT impressed with the reviews of it. Now that said, your honest reviews are why I picked the LM2150…it fit the bill and did/does the job for me. I did still keep my gas mower that just needs a carb overhaul…however, that new sod needed mowing and would not wait for me to overhaul. Also I love the mower because it is not doing further harm to my hearing after being damaged around gunfire and explosions. Mower is 85dB (for my lawn and mower setting) and 92dB on concrete (my driveway). Does a damn good job and can’t complain.

  • @authorizeduser680
    @authorizeduser680 Жыл бұрын

    I'm concerned how it performs up a hill where the wheels begin to slip and user has to push hard against the handle. Also when rounding bushes sometimes the operator needs to use only one hand to swing it around. How does it adjust to these situations? Someone below also mentioned going down hills. All of these are of concern if it requires touch.

    I don't need any type of self propelling. My yard isn't big enough to make it necessary. I have the very first Ego mower, going on 10 or 11 years now with it. It's not self propelled. I still use the same blade and battery. It still works like a charm, but if I were to want to get a new mower, maybe the LM2114 would be the way to go for me?

    Give me points, condensor, and gravity fuel feed - NOT! I have an early Ego LM2102SP mower without the bells and whistles. It is 4 years old and runs well. I know Ego makes great products. I hope they over engineer all the electronics so they last. I had a Toro Personal Pace system that lasted for 16 before I gave it away since I have the Ego. The Personal Pace was basically a mechanical linkage that depended on your input of pushing forward on the handle as you walked faster. Simple and durable. Thanks for the video. I'm glad to see Ego recognizes you and your channel with these early releases.

    Seems like the speed iq is more of an assisted propulsion than a self propelled. Just from watching this, I think the wheel motor senses how hard you are pushing and assists from there. I am basing my thoughts off of my old Toro Personal Pace. The Toro is gas with a spring loaded handle for input to the drive system. Are the green handle inserts decorative , or are they a functional touch sensor?

  • @TechMadeEzy

    Im not a fan of the Ego self propel. If I ever upgrade I probably wont get one with it. When I do use mine (which is rare) I find periodically the rear wheels lock up and I'm unable to pull the mower in reverse. Its super annoying. And it can even happen when the system is "off".

    @George W Even going downhill on slopes, with dense grass you sometimes still need to push. I would just be concerned that the system wouldn't sense you trying to stop fast enough. @Tech Made Easy i think u meant to say did. This one is just as loose at the bottom as the 57, its the exact same mechanism. Also, the handle on the 50 (all others) is technically better. There are 2 clamps on the sides, not one in the middle. They found a way to make it cheaper (consequently easier to use, but cheaper 1 instead of 2 will always cost less). Anyway, the 2167 is not what I thought it was going to be. It is good, but it can be a lot better. We are guinea pigs at this point. U can offset the cost with YT i can't. You want them to one day make a deal with ya, I dont. This product is a dud as it sits. You'll see. Whether ur honest or not about it, we'll see.
