It amazes me how people do these videos and say they’re confused but it obvious they’re confused because they’ve never opened the owners manual.

@@YardBrah thanks for being honest. I enjoyed your video. I love my Ego! I bought the carbon fiber shaft. After fighting with both of my gas powered units for over and hour and only getting about 5 feet done. I surrender with a blister and ran to Lowe’s and bought my fist battery operated unit. I’m 💯 percent sold very impressed with mine and will be throwing the gas ones in the trash.

Your trimmer line appears to be too short to cut much, thus the reason you're tired and sore. It should consistently be 7-8" long. However, this EGO trimmer gets much better after 2-3 weeks of practice. I also took the guard off to increase visibility. As for the trimmer head, watch any KZread video on those type heads; they're really easy. 👍

This is where reading the directions would’ve saved you a lot of work and time. There’s no need to remove the head. If you line up the two notched on the head you’ll se a hole where you feed the line in to and then you wind it. That’s all. Also it will not fit other EGO tools as it is not a power head. This is the weed whacker that comes in a combination with the blower. I’d only use it with the 2.5ah battery to keep it light.

Would have been awesome if you would have given some pointers on how he should be running the trimmer, instead of just 💩ing in the comments….Since you’re a “professional”.

Interesting video. The Auto Load feature is for you to “Load” the stream when it is empty. Feed a pice of stream through the hole, make sure both sides have even length and press the button and it will “Auto Load” into the head. Like all professional trimmers it has a bump head so just bump the green head against the grass and the line will increase automatically. I would say that the ergonomic would improve dramatically with the “Darwin’s Grip 5.0” installed.

Love this review. I just purchased the Worx Revolution. I have a Greenworks and an Ego. Everything you said about the Ego is spot on. I'm really short and not being able to adjust it is a pain. The string reload isn't the easiest. I'm looking forward to using the Worx for the first time. Way to hang in there old man LOL

I’m with you Sir!..I’ve had Worx trimmers since back when they used NICD batteries…love them..so light, easy and convenient plus all the new tools that they have come out with and all use the same battery platform…EGO is an excellent manufacturer, no doubt but a tool being convenient, like you said, also includes the convenience of keeping to one battery platform and not having forty different chargers and batteries…keep up the great work!!

This is a video on how not to use a trimmer. Suggestion: Get a shoulder strap to take the weight off. Make sure the string is not 2 inches long as you're trimming a couple of inches a grass at a time, hence why it's taking so long to do. You literally have the trimmer on the ground while you're edging. Lastly is that trigger depressed all the way or do you have a high/low button as it seem like you're babying it. Not sure which model you have. Just re-watch and it seem like you have an older model. Please watch other videos on youtube on the same trimmer to get an idea on how to use it properly. C+ for effort and not giving up!

I bought this and will probably take it back. I didn't realize this model was a not multi head capable, which I really wanted. Tempted to keep it because it's an Ego and it's pretty tough, but everything they sell is pretty damn expensive. Still #1 brand in my opinion but for the price, I feel it's not for me either.

Got mine today and took it back after the first use. Out of the box the line feed would not work when bumping the head. I had to press the head down and pull out line with a pair of pliers. Then one of the feeds wore down and broke. I tried getting the head off and couldn’t even after looking up KZread videos. Then after a half hour of not working on my yard I’m like what am I doing ? I’m just wasting time. I can’t keep fiddling with a trimmer head just to get it to work.

Bro, the variable speed is there. The speed changes for as hard as you press down the throttle. And the bump feed, you have to be holding the throttle and then bump it when the battery is in. Do more research if you want to be able to use it correctly.

No he's right you for sure weren't feeding the line right, and using the bump feature correctly. The variable speed not sure I couldn't hear the speeds in your video so you might have a defective model, also iv heard any straight shaft model trimmer isn't for shorter people the ergonomics just don't seem to work if your under 6'
