Egg Money Quilts "Dresden Plate"
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
From her German heritage, Eleanor shares the history of this beloved pattern. She demonstrates the versatility of the pattern by color selection to create a totally new look: a wreath to adorn the home for the holidays and a scrappy sunflower quilt to brighten the sewing room.

We owe a HUGE debt of gratitude to Eleanor for helping revive quilting in the US and for simplifying how to quilt. THANK YOU❣
she is an amazing teacher - and so much fun. makes me happy to watch this - and i learned a lot!
When I first started quilting, my husband bought me your book of Civil War quilts. I was so excited! Your patterns and methods of putting them together were like magic to me. Quilting has become my stress relief. I've had 2 car accidents that have left me with some challenges that make it hard for me to look down for more than 15 minutes. But a lot of 15 minutes makes a bunch of quilt pieces! Thank you for your inspiration! I'm a fan forever! God Bless!
I love the way you explain things, and the history behind the quilts it’s just so amazing. Thank you for sharing all this information for us I love it
Oh, how I've enjoyed watching you! You are an absolute pleasure!!! And YES, I subscribed!

This woman is so cute- I just love her!
You helped me learn to quilt. Thank you. I love all your books. They r right close to my machine. Blessings
Eleanor, you bring so much history to the forefront in your stories, accounts, and in quilting. My Grandmother Quick was one of those who boxed up all of her pink Depression Glass and put it in the attic, but when I was 14 years old, she let my sister and I climb up the dark, old attic stairs into the cavernous storage area full of old piano rolls, victrola records, Edison wax cylinders, and more, and because she told us we could have anything we wanted from up there, I chose the big box full of Depression Glass. It was a Bridge Set, with even ash trays and coasters for the glasses. Grandma was glad to see it go, but for me, it was a treasure! I recently passed it on to my daughter, Christa, who was married this past year, and she cherishes it also and has it displayed in her new house. Ah....and she is a quilter, also, having made 12 quilts by the time she was 21! Just sharing a beloved story about Depression Glass and grandmothers and quilting. I learn so much from you. Thank you for being you, and God bless you and all those you love.

Thank you so much..I love your stories too...
This is the most delightful video Ive ever seen
So helpful thank you! My grandmother recently asked if I could finish piecing together a few of her grandmother's unfinished quilts from the 30's, she wants to help them fulfill their purpose and pass on her grandmother's legacy. Her Dresden plates are the only ones not square yet, making them the most challenging. This was the most informative tutorial/quilt-a-long I've found, history and instructions.
Love the Dresden quilts. Thanks for sharing!
Absolutely love the fabric you were sewing and especially the very last quilt, so beautiful!!! Thank you! 💚

Merci encore.
gotta love this lady she is fabulous
I just love these quilts. Your story about your mother-in-law collecting dishes on movie night touched my heart. I have my grandmothers collection. She was able to make up a full set for 12 settings. Its George & Martha Washington with 24k gold trim. What a treasure! Our family also collects depression glass
I loved this tutorial. Although you are an expert, you showed the people watching in a basic way, easy to understand. Can we have more please?
I just found you and love these videos! Keep them coming!!

Sra. Eleanor. La felicito que hermoso trabajo.
Great tutorial, easy instructions and easy to understand. ty
Wish I watched this before I made my Dresden, I used a zig zag stitch but I think the blanket stitch looks nicer. PS I’ve started throwing my fabric ends over my shoulderm😂😂

Loved this hope your keeping well xx
Danke, sehr gut erklärt und viele schöne Anregungen. Beste Grüße
Fusible interfacing would be an option for the rounded tops on the others.
que buenos trabajos!!!
When ironing on the back, you will get a better press if you placed a fat quarter on top of the place then press because you are protecting the seams from shifting.
Gosto muito do seu jeito de ensinar patchwork!bjo Teresa

I love your sing song voice.
Oh I luv u so much!
Where do you buy the preprinted fusible circles??
How did you get the circle printed on the interfacing? And why not have the quarter circle marks printed on it too. Love your video the best. Thank you. I can't wait to make one. My fabric is cut so now I can start sewing.
Can I ask the size of the square to press the Dresden point before sewing all together! It's a magic trick! Thanks a lot for your history part and the quilting part too! God bless you! From a franchie of Montreal, Quebec.
Anyone know what size that square with an X on it is? The one she used to help iron the points of the plates?
Where can I purchase the printed Dresden circle Visible interfacing? I've always used the stitching method ding method with a piece of a piece of circled cardboard
What kind of paper U use for circle???
🥰❤
Wanderful!!!! Kisses!!!!
Lindos trabalhos 👏👏👏
can you show how to do round top instead of points?? ??
Me gustaría saber las medidas de los girasoles gracias
You took my depretion away
Just a hint that I found after making these, cut an X in your interfacing BEFORE you sew the two pieces together. No chance of cutting the fabric this way!
