“It didn’t heal, but it soften my heart toward God … “ a loss of a child is unfathomable.. I know all too well, the heart strings do entangle with all bereaved. 💞

I myself have come to the idea of a prayer Bible recently because I got recommended videos about it. I want to create one and I was so happy to find your last video because it moved my heart to create a prayer Bible more mindfully. I loved your video and will take those tips into consideration as I create one. I really appreciated that video. With that said I admire you for making this video because if you thought it was necessary then it was necessary. God bless!

I greatly enjoyed this podcast and have put Dr. Webb’s book on my reading list. I have recently come back to Christ and am new to reading the Bible. Your videos have been a HUGE help to me. I know this was only briefly touched on, but as a lesbian woman, I’m wrestling with the view of homosexuality in the Bible and trying to find a faithful understanding. I’ve struggled to find good resources on the topic because I find people either tend to write from a place of hate or a place of hurt and neither are true to the text or the history of the time. Dr. Webb seemed to come from a faithful perspective so I’m interested to read his writing on the topic. I’m also interested to find other sources who might take stronger approach in their hermeneutics and see their reasonings. I’m married to a woman and we have a 6 month child together. Our life is full of love. Growing in my understanding of my faith while wrestling with this topic is so so hard, but so worth it. We must always be bold enough to face the hard topics both with others and within ourselves-with LOVE as our basis.

May God bless you in your search for answers. I will only say if you do find that the bible does indeed speak about homosexual practice as impermissible then you will find what many Christians have found: that following Christ is costly and oftentimes contrary to our natural desires. Still I believe in the end it will be worth it a thousand times over.

As a woman who's tended toward homosexuality for many years, I understand the difficulty of this topic. Love is beautiful. I don't know exactly how I'd feel if I were committed to a woman before coming to Christ. What helps me with this topic is to understand that any fornication outside of marriage is also forbidden. All sin is. Jesus died on the cross to wash away the sins of all who believe in Him. May God bless you and peace be with you through your journey.

Great podcast, I will be ordering these books asap. One of the really helpful things that I gleaned from a previous pastor at my church was to look at the bible with 3 lenses. Firstly through a telescope lens- so looking at the big picture of the whole arc of the Bible. Secondly, to look with our own 20/20 regular vision, like chapters or books of the Bible, with notes or commentary. Lastly, look with your microscope to one or a few verses, like your word studies and deep dives. If we were to look at themes, then we must still use our 3 lenses to examine the references given to support any particular point of view.

I'm enjoying listening to this gentleman. As I listen, I'm reminded of another theologian who also wrestle with some of those difficult text of Scripture. His name is Greg Boyd and he wrote a book called "The Crucifixion of the Warrior God: Interpreting the Old Testament’s Violent Portraits of God in Light of the Cross". It's a two volume and there's a more condensed version.

Such a great topic! I do think Dr. Webb was maybe a bit nervous interviewing, he stalled often on his thought process, he would laugh or have an undertone of nervous laughter when he was describing sensitive information. I thought you Faith were much more prepared, understood the content and context of the material in a much more balanced manner. Hopefully this comment comes across more observant than critical. Keep up the good work!

His is an interesting approach. I've seen Witherington occasionally allude to "trajectory" as part of hermeneutics. OTOH, I note that Dr. Webb's chapter was dropped in the most recent edition of "Discovering Biblical Equality," so it's probably not considered the most important or reliable hermeneutical approach.

Nice seeing this topic being covered. If anyone is interested in hearing another egal perspective I have a series about my egalitarian journey on my channel. I was comp for over 30 years until I started to set aside what I had been taught all my life and examine for myself to see what was the stronger argument. The first video of the series is featured on my youtube channel home page, and the full series is on my podcast tab.

lol He is demonstrably incorrect. You clearly haven't done the research yourself AND he is coming from a biased point of view. The Bible as a WHOLE doesn't support women being pastors nor addressing the general congregation as preachers. The Bible AS A WHOLE does NOT support his position. It is pretty funny to watch this.

I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. A woman could only be given the authority by God to execute a man for his sin, if women are spiritually equal to men. A Judge could judge homicide cases according to Deuteronomy. Therefore Deborah, as a Judge, could execute a man for his sin. A Judge was cleared to teach from scripture as he/she gave a verdict, according to Deuteronomy. Since in Judges 4, men went to Deborah to be judged, a woman could teach men, even in the Old Covenant in a public setting.

@@Norrin777Radd cool story little one. The Bible demonstrably and irrefutably agrees ONLY with the complementarian stance. It is explicit about it.
