Efficient AND Practical | 2021 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The Honda Accord is one of the best selling sedans and this hybrid model can give you up to 48 MPG depending on the trim level. You don't sacrifice any space or features with the hybrid model compared to the gas model either. The only sacrifice would be less power than the 2.0L turbo on regular Accord models (which is a blast, by the way). The Honda Accord Hybrid remains spacious, feature-rich, and well rounded for a family sedan with the added efficiency to top it off. The model shown is the Accord Touring.

I’m 85 years old and I regularly get almost 700 miles per tank. Extremely fuel efficient. I’ll buy a new one in about 5 years. Thanks Honda!

I just got this car yesterday, and this was easily the most detailed and helpful test-drive video. Cabin noise is hugely improved over my old beater Altima, but I can't say how it stacks up against other current sedans.

I have this exact car in Pearl white. Hybrid touring. I absolutely love my car. I average around 40mpg. Close to the projections. I tend to be a lead foot though. It’s fun to drive and super comfortable and the touring is like a euro lux inside

I would add air instead of shock absorbers, opening and closing the trunk using a button, hood shock absorbers, double glass rear doors and keyless entry for the rear doors, as well as speakers on the rear doors. Electrically adjustable steering wheel, front camera and closing side mirrors

Honda's design is very good. It wouldn't take much modification to increase battery size to +4 kWh and add a re-charge plug. Everything else would stay the same. The Accord hybrid would then qualify for tax credit.

There are three power trains. In order of price, 1.5L turbo with CVT, 2.0L hybrid, and 2.0L turbo with 10 speed automatic. The Touring does not cone with the small engine, so the hybrid is the cheapest at that trim.

600 miles per tank? NO WAY! I own that exact car. I get 8-10mpg LESS than what is advertised since I bought it last January. I am not a leadfooted driver. I am 67 years old. I drove across southern Idaho this summer while on vacation. I drove 5 mph less than the posted speed limit, used the cruise control, and had econ mode on. I got 29 mpg. I called the dealer and was told that there was no check, adjustment, or anything whatsoever they could do about it. The car will tell you if there is something out of adjustment.

Well, my last tank in _almost_ this exact car (it's a 2018) was only 585 miles. But these Honda's read "empty" with 1.5 gallons left, and I don't like driving too far past empty. I theory, I could have approached 650. I'm 65 years old, drive at the prevailing speed but without a leadfoot, and use econ mostly but sport when I need to goose it. Over the last 26K miles (since I started detailed recording), I've averaged 48.5 mpg. So yes, it can do that well. There is a break-in period, and it doesn't like cold; I started keeping detailed records because the first winter I was closer to 40 mpg. Just be sure to not change speeds a lot, and use the paddles when coming to stop lights - you don;t need them for regen braking, but they train you about when the friction brakes become necessary. And don't press that EV button - it sounds backwards, but it uses the most gas. It was gas you burned earlier to charge the battery.

I contacted Honda and told them about my poor mileage issue. I also told them that I called the dealer and was told that there was no check, adjustment, or anything whatsoever they could do about it. They told me to take it to the dealer for checks and adjustments. Does that make any sense to you????

UPDATE: at 6500 miles, I took the car in for an oil change. I was told that Honda puts break in oil in the crankcase which is different than regular oils. They replaced it with high quality synthetic oil. The service mgr said I should get 1.5 mpg better mileage now that the break in oil was removed. We drove the car very gingerly. We saw mileage ratings on the computer screen showing 52, 40+, 58, etc on a regular basis. When I went to the gas station to fill up, the computer said I was getting 40.5 mpg (mostly in town but some freeway). However, only the true way to see your gas mileage is doing the math after a fill up. I got 38.5 mpg - not 40.5 mpg. Still cannot break the 40 mpg barrier, no matter how slow I drive...

@@michaellynch2559 I have had mine for a month. Highway it actually gets worse mileage. I am getting 580 on the tank before filling up. I still had over a gallon left so….. I find I actually get better mileage in regular mode. Not Ecco
