At some point I'd love to try a TCE HOF, but I currently use a Dispatch Master and it works really well. Also has some delay options in it as well. As far as DIs, I could never get a decent sound with a Baggs PADI. I liked the Red Eye a lot in terms of sound but the boost wasn't loud enough and I wanted more EQ options at my feet. The Grace Designs Alix is pricey, but it is terrific on both accounts. That being said, pairing mandos with DIs is soooooooo dependent on the mandolin. Oner guy's set up might not work for someone with a different mando. It's not an instrument that was really built to be DI'd, and it's really surprising how different mndos respond to different DI set ups.

Hey Mike I've been learning alot of songs from your videos here lately so thank you for that. Since you do more classic rock, I really want to learn Fire on the mountain by Marshall Tucker. I think it could sound awesome on the mandolin. Hopefully you can put a video out on it in the near future. Thanks
If you ever get a chance to play a gig with a electric Fender Mandocaster with a pedal board, you may never go back to an acoustic mandolin when playing a gig. Love mine. And unlike every guitar or bass I've ever owned, give it a good setup and you'll never have to worry about fret noise even with extremely low action.
Thank you so much for the explanation and demo...I haven't seen a better one, especially as I'm looking at pedals and if one would help. Im looking at a Fishman Platinum preamp... Do you know if they do the same thing as yours (other than the Fishman has a built-in tuner and is a lot dearer) Bron
