Andy! Been a fan of yours for years and when I first heard that piece you did on TPS that Tim talks about in this video I was floored, and pretty much had the same reaction as Dan, and instantly had to pause and rewind that part until I had it learned. It's the best "lullaby" guitar music I've ever heard. My family loves it.

When I was 16 (54 now) Andy was at the University of Miami and he was my guitar teacher and helped me get into Berklee College of Music. Even way back then the chops, musicality, touch, passion, humility, THE EVERYTHING- was a revelation. It was so impressive I have tried and wanted to emulate that ever since and he defined it. So thankful for that time, and love the pedal.

That B section (1:47) is basically just the ending of 'No Other Love' by Jo Stafford. The part that goes "...let no other love know the wonder of your spell." And that makes perfect sense, since Andy has reportedly called this song his tribute to Chopin, and Chopin is the one who wrote the piece that 'No Other Love' was based on - Étude No. 3 in E, Op. 10. I think that's partly why it feels like this song was just "always there" (0:29). Granted, Andy adds a lot of his own tasty bits to it! Cheers.

Thanks Tim, Andy's solo is angelic and your break down is respectfull and an experience of him. Brilliant work... I will check out the Floyd Rose and Halo too it was awesome, but really thanks for making the guitar and music accessable to part timers like me

Wow Tim Pierce! Very cool of you to demonstrate what you liked about Andy Timmons, the effects (pedal) and your breakdown of the tune performed along with the sample for the pedal. Love the fretboard view - Killer! Andy is my favorite guitar Virtuoso. His harmonies, tone and applied techniques are combined to bring a soundscape uniquely Timmons. Like many Timmons compositions very moving. Many thanks!

Great performances, both. The first has such nice feel. The second shred one is amazing too. Those bends at 4:20 for example. The first performance reminded me a lot of Marty Friedman Lovesorrow. Not quite the same but some parts have similar touch and feel.

I got this pedal not to recreate anyone…but just to help me create. I am not a great guitar player even though I’ve been playing for over 40 years. What this did was unlock my sonic creativity. Of the 20+ delay pedals I’ve owned over the years…this is the first one that opened my heart and has lead me to build amazing guitar parts. Love it!

Check out the opening phrase of Willie Nelson's solo in Pancho and Lefty. It's very much the same as the major penta leaving out the 6. This is a wonderful lesson! I hope I get to meet you someday Tim!

This piece is one of those elegant whispers from the cosmos that remind me why I ever attempted to be more than a complete hack on the guitar in the first place. As much as it’s Andy’s work, the phrasing and spacing also evokes David Gilmour for me. I can understand why the TPS guys were crying. ❤
