I have both versions, and i like both. The noir is one of my first "warm" set. Very enjoyable.
First review of the Noir that I've heard a observation about "glare." Wish I knew what it was or perceived by him to be. If it's something that only comes across with poor recordings, well, I would think that's a fault of the recording and that the iem is just revealing it. Any popular (and cheaper) iems out there know for glare?

The problem is that they released Pilgrim at 1/2 price of Noir. Noir has the tuning I want, regular Pilgrim has the price I seek. I am sick of manufacturers overpricing all great neutral-darker IEMs. Also, everything I like comes in black only. Why? ☹️
I think the base model of the pilgrim sounds better personally and it’s way cheaper

Admittedly, I haven't heard either Pilgrim, and there are significant differences between them other than the expensive Effect Audio Eros cable, but is it worth double the price? I've seen two reviews of the Noir with a direct comparison to the base Pilgrim; both reviewers preferred the Noir but differed on whether that was worth the $400 bump in price. Another comparison I'd love to see from Wave Theory is with the Volare from brand new I/O Audio, a much hyped $600 tribrid with a much nicer accessories package than either Pilgrim (the Eros cable on the Noir aside). Most initial reviews have been favorable.
