EFAP Movies #25: Extraction with Jay Exci, JLongBone, ChaseFace, Porcus and Moriarty

Get your power tools, barbeques and slabs of meat, it's time for us to have a sit down and enjoy a good ol fashioned action movie with Thor himself!
The crew take a detour from modern shitty movies to simply have some fun with Extraction, a film that has quite a simple story jam packed with some stellar action.

    This was a nice surprise. I agree with MauLer. I treat this movie like an 80s action flick. And compared to what we're being served up today, I'd take movies like this. They're not high budget CGI trash. The teams are forced to be creative. The actors have to act. The makers have to give a damn. They clearly did, here. p.s. I'm from India. India's education system is in English. There's regional languages, but primarily, for global convenience (ease of doing international business, and banking and networking) its English, including official government business and documents (Hindi and English).

    Here to clarify about the pinky cutting point! Rags is correct! One instance I can think of is how Japanese yakuza cut off their pinkies (or atleast parts of it) after failures. This goes back to Japanese swordsmanship but it is applicable to most other things. When gripping thr sword or really anything the pinky is extremely important for keeping a tight grip. Going back to the yakuza, cutting off one's pinky would make one worse at gripping one's sword, making them worse at fighting, and forcing them to be more dependant on others to fight for them. TLDR: Rags was right about pinky and he is a good boy

    Rags love ya but using a bolt action rifle as a sniper rifle is much much better than a semi automatic rifle. There are many reasons but the main one is accuracy. Bolt actions will lock the round in the camber the same way every time insuring the same starting position as the last round. Where as a semi auto will pump dust carbon and other contaminants into the chamber changing the rounds starting position inside the chamber. Bolt action rifles can be a true free float barrel where as semi can not. The advantage is giving the barrel better sway after the shot giving the round smoother exit resulting in better accuracy. Bolt action rifles are still used in the U.S army the m24 and the xm 2010 were our two main ones both bolt action. We would carry semi autos but would never use them for first shot, they were mainly there for emergencies.

  • @petriew2018

    @petriew2018

    bolt action rifles aren't inherently more accurate than semi-auto rifles, that's pure gamer logic since you need to balance the slow rate of fire somehow.... in the real world the reason many high caliber rifles are bolt action is because the recoil impulse of a high caliber round in a semi or full auto rifle would be highly unpleasant to the shooter and slow his/her fire rate anyway. It's more about reducing the mass moving inside the gun than it is changes in accuracy, which in a combat situation are so minor as to not matter to the soldier using it. This myth needs to die...

  • @Hypnotoad114

    @Hypnotoad114

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@petriew2018 no your wrong. Bolt action rifles are used because they can be built to have a lower minute of angle. Because of reasons I stated above. Nothing to do with caliber. And nothing to do with "reducing mass moving inside the gun" wut? Semi simply cannot reproduce round placement in the chamber better than Bolt action can. I was a U.S sniper for 6 years in the mid 00s. And have fired many different types of guns. Semi autos tend to have 1.5-2.5 minutes where's I've shot Bolt with less than .5 minutes. Semi auto just cannot place rounds in the camber with the same accuracy.

    I got to say, overall, i enjoyed this movie. Which i think is pretty rare for me when it comes to action movies as a whole (as of "recent" years). Watching thor beating up kids was unexpected yet great fun. I will say the ending was pretty lame though, would of been better without it, i think. Edit: I love how they all seemed surprised by the ziptie breaking thing, for some reason I assumed at least one of them would know about that piece of trivia.

I dont know why they hate captain America winter soldier so much same with Avatar Last Airbender but their obsession with the new Spiderman movies and Tom Holland is strange to me to. I didn't hate the Spiderman films they were a 7 for me. I mean I agree with them on quite alot of things last Jedi, cap marvel, marvel TV series black panther etc but I'm curious to what's the beef. They watched Extraction and some what liked and respected it for its action but winter soldier they hate? Winter soldier is a far superior action film. I'm guessing it's the third act as usual.
