"How different is Terminator when Arnold steals a guy's clothes and motorcycle?" Well, one of them is a machine designed and programmed to exterminate MANkind, portrayed by a wooden and severely overrated "icon". The other is a robot from the future played by Arnie the maid slayer. Seriously though, The Terminator is a cyborg that kills indiscriminately to achieve its overall goal. He is not considered a "good guy". Even in T2 he had to be reprimanded and ordered not to kill. He is a machine built to terminate. Carol is not.

They could have easily had their Terminator moment had they portrayed her as having harsher morals while she thought she was a Kree warrior and she simply walked into a bar and stole what she needed, but that would have came too close to having a character arc.

You’re not at all wrong. The Don and King Lear have a lot in common, particularly in the way of domineering (Don-mineering?) women

Unironically, with there being a growing market for "anti-Super hero" stories, you absolutely could write a story about just a normal, hard working guy, trying to put his life back together after his wife died, making an attempt at flirting with another girl, and it all gets ruined when he runs into this evil, super chick from space. It traumatizes him emotionally, and the injury is enough to put him out of work. And since his boss is an asshole, he gets fired as a result, and he can't even afford a lawyer for a proper severance. His daughter, who he's had a really strained relationship with ever since the mother died, has to pick up a part time job, and she hates The Don for it, because she thinks that he was the instigator in the fight. Ultimately, his daughter abandons him and moves away, leaving a recovering Don to take some low-paying job to meet ends meet, only for his daughter to later be killed in an accident involving that same super chick. Yeah, this has potential for a really tragic story.

This actually reminds me a bit of joker (the movie) with the character having a dead end job to take care of a loved one, gets fired, an overall really tragic story..... can someone please make this story a reality

This is what I wanted The Boys to be. The first two episodes were my absolute favourite because it was all about the classic villains being heroes and the classic heroes being villains. Normal dudes trying to kill godlike supers would have made for an awesome show.

I said in another comment: If you focus on that interpretation of it being harassment, there's a non-cynical perspective you can subjectively draw from. That Carol looked lost and the Don was asking why she wasn't smiling i.e. what is wrong? It wouldn't surprise me if the character (even in the Chauvinist form the movie wants us to see him as) would have given her a ride or something if she just said "I need to meet someone at this bar soon and I don't have any transportation" for one reason or another. The fact that she jumps straight to physical violence rather than verbally rebuffing him (since he's not done anything violent and physically limited to moving the newspaper so he can speak to her face) says a lot about why this character isn't very likeable.

@@Operation_Bagel Good luck to Legal Eagle getting a jury of his peers to agree that was battery. And even more luck convincing a jury that that the threat and use of lethal force or grevious bodily harm, as well as grand theft was a reasonable response to the Don's actions.

It's not a story the left would tell you. Don could influence the people around him to smile. The only thing he feared was losing his motorcycle, which of course he did. Ironic he could make others smile but he ended up frowning due to overkindness.

@@denkerbosu3551 In T1, Arnie happened upon a group of 3 punks, who pulled a knife on him and said "Fuck you, Asshole" regarding the clothes I think. In T2, Arnie got a cigar burned into his chest and I dont remember if he started the tiny scramble in the motorcyle bar. In T3, he walked into a gay bar or strip club, and the stripper told him to talk to the hand. But, that's how I remember it

@@ilocosmetro After the Cigar burn in the bar he grabs and starts painfully squeezing/crushing the man's hand, which leads to another one hitting him with a pool cue and a third pulling a knife on him, after which he throws the first guy and it becomes an actual brawl rather than him simply shrugging off the hits. So the instigator depends on if you focus on the threat of violence in the first and how you compare a cigar burn to possibly breaking a hand, but in both cases Arnold was not the first one to instigate/threaten physical violence. Carol on the other hand is approached by the Don, asked for a smile, but regardless of if you think it's rude, the most he does is pull down her newspaper and essentially ask her to smile. He doesn't make contact with her until she offers the handshake, and depending on how you interpret it, the smile request could also be an implicit question to a stranger if something is wrong. If you wanted to have Carol use his Motorcycle to get somewhere while still kicking him for flirting, why not have her ask for a ride, and then ditch him when she gets there? Whatever you think of him there, Carol did not initiate physical violence despite exploiting him for her goal. Also as a nitpick it doesn't require you to assume that Carol simply knows how to drive a Motorcycle well enough to reach a destination she only knows the location of by map rather than familiarity, despite losing her memory and spending years on another planet while having none of her flashbacks suggest she can ride one; heck despite her piloting ability it wouldn't surprise me if she couldn't drive a car. There I go rewriting the script for an incompetent/incoherent scene again.

The biggest regret I have in life is that I lack the resources and talent to bring this short movie about Don to life.

It was actually just an inside joke with people he knows, because his name is actually Don. He uses "The Don" on potential dates as a way to test their crazy level, and Ms Danvers fucking blew it big time.

A new movie coming out in a theater near you, about a man who spends 20 years in life in prison after being falsely accused of sexual assault and questioning current Hollywood status for pushing "THE MESSAGE." The DonDank Redemption
