Ойын-сауық

In designing the Dulles International Airport, Eero Saarinen re-imagined a jet-age world, solving the problem of growing terminals by bringing the passenger to the plane with a "mobile lounge."

The 747 did not go into service in 1969. It started service in Jan. 1970. You must have used a 707.

As a kid this was my favorite airport. As a commuting adult, the amount of walking, escalators, trains, and mobile lounges to get to your gate makes me hate it. Perfect example of an airport that has outgrown it's original design. From parking to plane, it took 8 escalator rides, a train ride, and 1.5 miles of walk time.

This was an interesting series but why did they use a robot voice for the male narrator?

The mobile lounge concept was horrible. It was obsolete the day it was rolled out. It's no coincidence that hardly any airports in the world adopted the idea, and those that did abandoned it decades ago. The original design of Dulles has forced MWAA to have to retrofit terminal buildings and jetways so that the airport can operate efficiently. Nearly everything about Dulles is jury rigged.
