50 isn't even that old in today's world. My grandpa died at 82 after a triple bypass heart surgery in his 60's and had 3 different kinds of cancer. Even if you don't take care of yourself you can easily live till you're in your 70's. I agree that life does go by fast, but with modern medicine you can live well into your 70's+.

Till now i play this song everytime i shower. This song never fadee.

Will forever be the song I sang outside my neighbors balcony window that i threw pebbles at when i was 14 and loved Dawson's Creek. Adolescence is amazing when you embrace the possibilities of tv to life. Ill never regret doing that. At that moment in life i loved her.

This was wedding song!!! My husband passed away from Lou Garrick's disease at a very young age . He was 48 and we were married for 6 years. It reminds me of my husband's goodness and his love for music. He was my favorite person. And I love him so much. It reminds me of our wedding day. It alone reminds me of just how wonderful our lives were. Don't get me wrong we lived paycheck to paycheck. But I wouldn't trade that in for anything. So, with tears in my eyes, I just had to comment on how beautiful this song is and how beautifully you sing it. This is, by far, my favorite memory!!! Thank you so much. ❤️🤟

I attended his anniversary concert in Greenville SC (his and my home town) almost two years ago. I went with a girl I dated for quite a while. This was kinda our song. A year after she ended things, I’m still not over her, and I’m still not ready to let it go. If you’re reading this, I miss you and I think of you every day, I’m here if you ever come back.

A 53 year old guy who loves classic rock and old metal. But this song is legendary among love songs. You could say it stops me and steals my breath. Amazing.

Nicholas Harrison yes, such a phenomenal drummer. married his sister in West Virginia in 1988 and had such great times going around with Edwin McCain band. we div in 2002 in Nashville, love the memories but life goes on.

Geez, that's what I get for reading the comments. My son, Blake, was killed in a car wreck on April 28, 2020. He was only 18. The lyric, "I'll be better when I'm older" speaks, to me, of my failures as a father. I've heard it said that it's never too late to change, and I suppose that's true. But if one waits too long to change, it can be too late to make a difference in someone's life. I miss you Blake, and I'm so so sorry....

Heard this song on the A Cinderella Story movie and I’m obsessed

I've been watching Edwin most of his career. I feel in love with this song the moment I heard it and the video as well. He has always had such a passion in his face when singing. Being an actress and singer I get it. You pour your heart out into your music. This song will go down with so many folks for the rest of their lives as one that either passes as a love song or got them threw something. Mine is pretty personal but when this song came out.....well I had a bit of a crush going on Edwin. I was married to a horrible man that treated me like dirt. the abuse was bad enough to make me want to leave this world behind. I needed someone to tell me they were there for me. I'd had a horrible childhood that taught me I had no worth and felt no one was much of a fan. As I've grown older and been threw more this song has given me something to cling to. I'll be better when I'm older. I'll Be, is about to become a tattoo. I've waited a long time to decide what I wanted but this is it. I already have a few but wanted one more. When I see it I will remember the passion in Edwin's face (not trying to be creepy here) and I'll repeat to myself, I'll be better, I'll be stronger, I'll be more compassionate, I'll be more forgiving, I'll be better to myself, I'll be there for others, I'll be better today than I was yesterday, I'll be discovered one day, I'll be an inspiration, I'll be who I was intended to be, I'll be free, I'll be me........And I guess I'll always be that young girl who got to see a passion in someone's face I didn't know singing to me that I had, "The greatest fan of my life".It gave me a reason to keep living...... I remember the first time i heard him sing this was on SNL. Love at first friggin sight.

Technically competent artists may be able to "cover" this song, but they will never OWN this song like he does. Period.

I've had the chance to see him live at the Free Bird in Jax Beach Florida. I will never forget this moment when we shook hands. Great musician, great singer great music, great guy.

This was an amazing evening at the House of Blues in Myrtle Beach SC!! I have been blessed to see Edwin play probably over 20 times. His music is absolutely incredible, some of the notes he holds are unthinkable!!!!!!! He is such a nice guy and his stories are hysterical!!!! He was very gracious to sign a couple of my guitars and take pictures after the shows! Make sure you see him if you get a chance!!!!
