It's a shame that Fuji can't command his pitches.....the guy would be a great set up for Diaz if he didn't walk or hit half the batters he faces. You have to wonder why he can't get his control in line. It's got to be mechanics. You would think that's something that could be alleviated with help from the coaches and all the sophisticated data available to keep him steady in his release.

Edwin cost the Mets a couple games where we really could have used him. I'm extremely disappointed with him for what he did

At this point, the carousel of arms from Syracuse hasn’t been working out. I’d rather try that and see how effective it is than shuffle a bunch of guys making ineffective appearances.

@@LockedOnMets Thats the obvious solution! Look at how Butto’s performed. He came up on 3 days rest and gave us 2 scoreless innings and today he got 5 outs in 16 pitches. The fact that Mendoza pulled him when Garret almost blew the game in the 7th. Butto should have pitched the 7th and probably the 8th. The guy had thrown 16 pitches! Instead we use Garrett, Nunez, and Diaz. It’s great to know our pen will be fresh for tomorrow! The point of Butto in the bullpen is that he can pitch 3-4 innings and give the pen a day off. But Mendoza pulls him after 1 2/3rds and 16 pitches. F’ing clueless.

We had a bad game sell everybody

The Mets should give this “OMG” singer a 2 year deal & I know he is 34 but he brings so many winning intangibles to a contending team.

And what exactly has Fuji done that we need him. He throws hard but has mo idea how to control it. You really want him in a high leverage situation trailing or leading by a run

I expected the team to settle down. You can't expect all of your hitters to continue to hit like they did in June. Although they have had a pretty easy schedule in July thus far, they are playing 17 games without a day off. Let's see where they are at the all-star break.

Still only have 1 lefty in the bullpen - Diekman. They brought up another righty today(Orze), but no Walker or Lucchesi.

I thought the same thing that Wendy wanted to show Sterns that Diekman sucks

With Diaz back, Mendoza couldn't wait to pull his starter early and go to the bullpen. He pulls Peterson after 4 1/3 and almost gives the game away with Garrett. It is not the bullpen's fault, but Mendoza's complete and utter mismanagement of the in-game pitching decisions.

He is a flamethrower but can't throw strikes. Stearns needs to make trades, as much as I hate to admit it. I felt Diekman had to go long before the Pirates game.

Mets need to keep Houser, Butto and Megill for bullpen since they can pitch multiple innings… Nunez as the set up man for Diaz with the rest in spots to try to get out of innings…

Don’t like to point fingers but I feel the blame is on Hefner. This team has become a place that pitchers go to die.

The issue is, there are no lefties worth bringing up and you won't be finding a good lefty on the waiver wire either. But I agree, you can't let that option vest. Deikman has been terrible.

Josh Walker has a 1.42 ERA in AAA. Lucchesi is a decent pitcher too.

Probably one of Lindor, Nimmo or Severino. Honestly all three are more than deserving of making the All-Star team but of course we know only one will make it.

Why so extreme dude / at least score 3-4 runs and don’t allow bullpen to blow it

Let's not forget Ryan, you wanted to cut Houser a month ago and he's been one of the more consistent relievers. Maybe Diekman can turn it around. Just bustin your balls but I do think we should sell at the deadline now. We're a .500 team. That's just reality, and we should get rid of the guys that can return us prospects.

Looks like the 2024 Mets will be remembered for having a great June, and nothing else. We may never see .500 again this year. Front office should have fixed this mess a long time ago. Trade, DFA, give guys in AAA a shot. It can't be any worse. No sense of urgency from the team. They are unwatchable again, and I will not waste my time.

I think it’s unfair to blame Stearns when it’s his first year and he’s had to deal with injuries from Brooks Raley, Drew Smith, Sean Reid-Foley and the Díaz suspension. You can’t expect the bullpen to operate effectively under those circumstances.
