I met him once at the end of a concert. I'm not really one with words and all that came to my mind to say was "I really love you man" and he paused a second and looked back at me and said "I love you too man" and I shook his hand and walked away. It was such a great moment

my favorite version of this song. it sounds incredible. almost like a church revival. the audience was probably in shock. i was in the audience of conan's original show once and the lights, cameras, sounds, being in nyc... it can be overwhelming. why wouldn't dave think alex was edward? i did before i learned more about him.

Watching this video for 8 years know and still love when Alex shreds on the tambourine when he grabs it

There stage presence is phenomenal. They seem to be genuinely happy to be there and preform.

What a stage presence Everyone is hanging on his every word

I don't think I could control myself if I was there. I would so be on the stage just dancing my ass off with the band. What an amazing performance! Alex has such an incredible aura that he puts off, amazing.

This is probably the best Letterman performance ever....Hands down.

Is it just me or does anyone feel like after listening to this song feel like they took a load off? Like there was burdens you were carrying but then the lyrics of this song told you that you are fine and loved and everything about you is perfect the way you are??? Through all life’s struggles you can find joy scootering.

The best song I`ve heard in a while. I just love their voices. The official video is wonderful too. I would have been dancing with him if I had been in that audience. He was joyous. Beats the hell out of all this teenage crap around of late.

I love this song so much.

I love this version better then the studio version.It doesn't have as much heart and soul compared to them doing it live.

In a way, Alex is Edward Sharpe, there's an awesome interview with him somewhere on youtube, apparently Edward Sharpe was a superhero in a comic he wrote, Edward was a version of himself based on what the child Alex Ebert imagined what he would be like when he was older.....essentially a combination of superman, batman and jesus.... :D He was a man sent down from space to save humanity but kept getting distracted and falling in love. Cool huh :)

And Jade looks so damn scared/excited when David Letterman comes up to her at the end. :O
