EDUCATION, CREATIVITY AND THE UNKNOWN

Ойын-сауық

Harold was as passionate about teaching as we was about photography itself. He felt is was a sacred responsibility to turn his students on to their own creative vision residing within. Whether he was teaching at the Annenberg School (his first teaching job in 1960 at the age of 29) or Holy Cross College (2000-2002) and all the workshops and colleges in between, he refused to give grades. His desire was to liberate the creativity within and assist students to integrate the true joy of the creative process in their lives. It means being willing and ready to walk into the Unknown. "What is the Unknown? It's life itself! It's the creative juice! It's all that's spiritual; all that's marvelous! Unfolding almost inspite of courselves." This is from a class on May 16, 2001 in Watertown, MA. This clip was made possible with the support of the Phillip and Edith Leonian Foundation.
