I fell in love with the Bianchi Celeste color in the 1980s, and saved up for a Veloce, which I purchased 25 years ago. Every year I add a few thousand miles to its frame, which is always responsive, handles nimbly, and flies down mountainsides rapidly, on Campagnolo wheels. 🇮🇹

Recumbent bikes are the next level bikes!!

My first episode-loved it! You mention Coppi and the Giro D'Italia which made me think of the great Italian bicycle champion WWII hero, and humanitarian Gino Baltali. Did he not ride a Bianchi? My close friend and 2nd generation (his parents came here from Italy) R. Bartolini cannot hear Bartali's name without choking up and bursting into tears. Such courage!

Very Innovative Bicycle by Edoardo Bianchi; Very Modern for the 19th Century. Bianchi also is credited with pushing the Mass Production of Bicycles much in the smame way that Henry Ford did with Cars. By 1890 Bianchi was making 20,000 Bicycles/ Year. It only grew from there. Edoardo eventually made cars and many of them were ultra-luxury and even considered as the Rolls-Royce of Italy early on.

@@ItalianInnovators An you are very right. Early cars were an acumen of many things including bicycles. Early steam cars like those in France and the USA had Chain Drive as their mode of transfer power; prior to the Invention of the Transmission. This Chain Drive was derived from Bicycles. Later when the Transmission was invented Chain Drive served a different purpose. It was used as the cars Drive Train before the Invention of Rear-wheel drive which took place in France by Rene Panhard and Emile Levassor in 1891. And you are right many car companies did start with bicycles. Such examples include Peugeot, Di Dion-Bouton and Corre in France as well as Bianchi, Ceirano, Nazzaro, Cisitalia, Innocenti, Prinetti-Stucchi, Temperino and Diatto in Italy in addition to Riley, Humber, Triumph, Daimler and Starley in Britain.
