Yeah it's definitely helpful from a teamwork perspective, that's for sure. BUT these are the same techniques I go through (with a little more specific direction) with someone who doesn't know what they are doing or who is nervous about being in front of the camera. If you stop posing people with specific poses, instead give them scenes to act out, its a lot better. One of the key things I go over in my one to one workshops, is a workflow to shoots for the average subject in front of your camera. From where to sit them or lean them, to what focal lengths to use at the beginning vs at the end, and a bunch of other things that make your life and their life easier especially when they aren't used to you pointing a big camera at them! That always seems to be one of the key elements in my workshops that beginner to pro photographers are blown away with!
I just found this video on KZread and one thing I love that you do are those little tips you add to the bottom of the screen while you explain. I feel like that's how tutorials should be and you've done a great job at teaching exactly what the video title says. I look forward to seeing more of these type of videos from you. subscribed!👍

Hey Kirk! I've had quite a few gold members on dannybatista.com/learn ask for those deep dives into my processes, including how I contact brands, models, how I continue to get business inquiries, how I price myself, other efficiencies in my business, unique editing tutorials, and all kinds of other stuff! Those are more lengthy videos and specific to each photographer's unique needs that have asked for them. I can definitely do the same for you! That's where my community I showed the code for in the video come in though. If you want, you can have that as your custom video this month once you're signed up as a gold member!

Hi Danny I am quite happy to find your channel. First of all your voice is like a fine glass of red maybe even an "Amarone." Really lovely work, how you explain things and have your talent work with you, you work together, totally super. I do like the 85mm, I have one at f/1.8 and looking forward to a new 1.4 if that comes out soon. My 1.8 has a slight blue look to it (it is the lens) lol. bThanks for posting. Question, where did you guys shoot?
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
Garfield!! Sorry to just get to your question! I appreciate the love and have never heard anyone describe me as a fine wine 😅😅. I love that! I’m definitely enjoying the 85 but shooting smaller than 2.0 isn’t really important to me. This is out near Virginia key!
Would love to see some retouching tutorial of this shootb
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
Hey friend! All the heavy detailed retouching stuff is on Dannybatista.com/learn If you’re on insta I provide some insight into all the techniques I do in little chunks on stories and always point out things you should be doing but if you want all the detailed stuff with my retouching action, the techniques that most photographers seem to glaze over and not know how to use, as well as all my workflows, it’s on my site. KZread will be for all the BTS and how I achieve my shots. Check out the coupon I added in the video so you can check out the site and the knowledge for cheaper!
I follow you on IG and literally just found you on YT! (Thanks algorithm) I have a MIA beach shoot coming up and glad I found your channel. This looks middle of the day, but when is your preferred time to shoot in the MIA area? I also just subbed, great job on your tutorials.

@@zacgrimaldo I love shooting at any time of day when it’s not HOTTT! Haha! Since I’m able to use my own direction and posing knowledge to help the model look their best time of day doesn’t matter. I also regularly use off-camera flash outside in the middle of the day, and I make it look natural. If I was forced to choose a time it would be 8am-10am and maybe 3 hours before sunset. Not a fan of golden hour for a bunch of reasons! Let me know how I can help!
@zacgrimaldo

@@DannyBatista Thanks for the quick reply. You may be the first photog I’ve heard that DOESN’T like golden hour on the beach, although I don’t like models to look like Cheetos.

@@zacgrimaldo hahah! Well color can be easily managed and golden hour does have it's benefits. I just know the power of other times of the day and how to manage them as well :) Let me know if I can help!
What do you think about the Z6iii? Anyway your roll intro is freaking good. Something special about your footage.
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
It’s already on preorder and I put in the request for the Nikon Pro priority delivery. Looks like an amazing cam. The z8 is still the winner, but getting a ton of the z8 features in the z6iii including that swivel screen and the smaller size?!!! Ouffff going to be a beast.
@MuphovieArts

@@DannyBatista can't wait to see your content of z6iii
I think you’ve talked about this before, but I can’t remember. You’re not using a lens hood here; is that so that you can operate the circular polarizer? Would you normally have a lens hood and such harsh lighting conditions to help cut down on the potential for sunflare on the lens?
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
I always use a lens hood even with the circular polarizer. It's possible with the polar pro filters I use, HOWEVER, I didn't have the hood with me for the 85 so it wasn't used. Othewise there are a couple of reasons I always want it on. Protect my lens, and remove glare and flare from the edge of lens.
@scottflathousephotography
Ай бұрын
@@DannyBatista good to know, same reasons I always use a lens hood!
Why do you shoot everything on f2.8 when they give you a 1.2 lens to test? That is just 24-70 f2.8 with another 15mm on top.
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
As noted: Part 1 and Part 2 coming up. Those looks I push the lens to 1.2 on video and photo just for you. These particular shots were specifically for what she was needing for her FASHION EDITORIAL objectives for comp card and other deliverables. Most of that stuff is actually shot at like f8 in most cases but I REALLY didn’t want you to yell at me. P.S. an extra 15 mm of compression no matter the aperture is actually helpful. 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽
What do you mean you fly for free?
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
Hey Jeffrey, I mean I don't pay anything for flights because I've been doing this long enough to have a system in place with points that my flights are all free, always. In the US I also can put anyone on the plane with me for free too via southwest (companion pass) for every single flight 365 days of the year, every single flight. This means for the workshops I do in each city each week, I bring the model with me too, unless the photographer wants to work with someone in their city.
@nicolaimitchell3658
Ай бұрын
@@DannyBatista This is exclusively through Southwest? I need to learn your system because I fly a lot myself and can't utilize my points in this way or maybe I haven't learned how.
@DannyBatista
Ай бұрын
@@nicolaimitchell3658yeah man! There are some techniques you need to learn! Including how to get companion pass year after year without even flying if you wanted to.
