I just want to know if it will vary the frequency responses or the Sound comparison by using the 30º Degrees positioning method as we habituate for mixing, or if you're using any special crosstalk plugin to mix the frecuencies or eq... Great video as always. I have been through all the videos & as far as I can tell i couldn't find the iLoud Micro Monitors vs Presonus Eris E5 as they are similar pricing . . . any chance? :) . . . oh maybe also the iLouds vs Eris 3.5 as well

the s1000mkII is $475cad and the r1700BTs is around 200ish$cad, with small difference on sound performance and huge gap on price I would go for r1700bts :D thanks for the video :D

It is not the same to see these comparisons on KZread than to have the speakers in front of you. I have had both speakers and the difference in performance is not small. There really is a noticeable difference between the two speakers.

I think I am buying the sub with my R1700BT's The mids and highs are good and better, ony the bass is not much and sometimes really unclear.

Yes, I'm using the 1700 and t5 combination for my TV. Tuned properly , the sound is fantastic for the money paid. The S1000 sits in my other room purely for music, partnered with an Ifi Zen Blue DAC which brings the sound more forward and alive.

What would you choose between R2000db and s1000mkii and how big of a difference would it be?

What are the best speakers for under 400?

S1000MKII clearly wins.

Is the R1700BTs included subwoofer in this comparison? R1700BTs bass sounds very strong and very close to S1000MKII. 🤔

I had an opportunity to test r1700bt, and it seemed a bit too much in terms of midbass. In tracks with bass guitar mix didn't sound right. As if they tried to compensate a lack of subbass with midbass. Is BTs version more balanced?

Models with sub outs generally have less of mid bass thump you mentioned. So if you find the midbass is too strong, lower the bass knob, that will decrease the 75hz - 90hz region. The 1700BTs, 1850DB and 1855DB generally have less midbass.

Hi I have a question. in my country 1700bt(and s') is about 140usd(~110 with discount) and s1000mk2 is about 200usd. what should I go with? (desktop, small room, multimedia)

If you live in USA i would recommend Klipsch RP 600M, but if you live in Venezuela Edifier R1280DB

@@isaidstream4547 thanks for the recommendation! Are the Alesis Elevate 5 MKll good for that? I ordered them because they have a bass boost and I think it would be good for playing some sessions too in my room, also I own a Sennheiser HD600 with a DAC/AMP that I would use mostly for produce

Both spkrs have similar sound signature cos both are manu. by the same company, MKII being more expensive do sound better in every department.

I know it is a little premature, maybe you should the ball rolling(planning) in trying to get a pair of Q acoustic Active 2-way for comparison. You have an established KZread channel, getting a pair for demo would not be too difficult.

I prefer bass-reflex on the front, not on back because "on back" it requires additional space between back of the speaker and the wall. Anyway in this comparison s1000 have more kick and less clarity in the mid/high-range.

Great vid ! Adam audio t8v vs hs8 would be my dream comparison. Keep up the amazing work !

@@nemoegg the Airpulses are on a totally different level when it comes to mids and highs and the soundstage, imaging and airiness are so far away from the R series its not even funny. They cost a lot of money though.

Oh man, i just bought r1700t las week and now Edifier launched R1700bts.. Oh c'mon.. Is there any difference between the sound quality? (beside Bluetooth v5 and subwoofer jack)

They are same T version lacks bluetooth I think. I have 1700BT it lacks subwoofer jack.

@@oliviu11119 The BT's' have a sub connector, thats what the "S" stands for, so you can add a sub to them, which you cant on the normal BT.

If 80% of the time I use KZread as a source for music and video, should I be concerned about buying a Hi-Res speaker (Edifier s1000mkii) or would it sound similar to speaker (without Hi-Res logo) (Edifier s350db).

Hi Res is not worth it IMO. Couldn't hear any noticeable difference with and without it.

So which one do you recommend according to sound and bass response ? . S1000mkii or r1700bts with t5 sub..

S1000MKII will sound better top to bottom. R1700BTs + T5 is a good combo but not on the same level as S1000MKII IMO. The only advantage would be a bit more reach down low, but the intergration between the sub and sats is always an issue. S1000MKII will go almost as low but the bass will sound more natural and detailed, plus S1000MKII has better mids and treble as well.

@@DSAUDIOreview I was using the klipsch promedia 2.1, so comparing bass to that. It was amazing for metal, and movies and pop music. The edifier were great for classical and vocal but the s350 greatly disappointed me with the bass. Please let me know if this can satisfy me with the bass compared to promedia

Followed ur old review.... 350db on the way Does s1000mkii beats 350db in movie/music that needs sound quality but also good bass... For home theatre experience which ones better? S350db or s1000mkii Both have same price as of now.

There seems to be some spatial difference ON THE RUN.

Es indiscutible que las 1000 es superior a 1700 pero con subwofer plantan cara.Tiene buena fidelidad las dos.Sonido natural y equilibrado.Son muy buenos productos y buen precio.

after listening through my headphones, it sure seems the studio monitors sound better than any of the bookshelves that edifier has to offer. The studio monitors come closest, or almost identical to the source track.

@@martinregana5548 personally, I'd rather get a passive pair of speakers and a separate class AB amp. You can really hear the Class D in these " all in 1" systems. I think the edifier 1850 and 3000db wireless are probably edifier's best two systems. But you can still hear the Class D in the 3000 as well.

@@jamesk7433 Check this comparison with a rather cheap class D amp. Another con about a passive setup, there is no DSP or speaker correction. @@rdolle990 IMO the only sound manipulation u should use is treble and bass. All that DSP makes it worse. You can time correct, distance correct, phase correct, enhance this, boost that, dynamic this, dynamic that. The original producer already put all the effort to mix down the original track, why would u want to run DSP all over it again ?

R1700BTS is 100USD in Malaysia, while S1000MKII is 300USD😆

R1700BTs is the same except for new bluetooth version (5.0) and subwoofer output. They sound the same via analog input and the "s" version sounds better via bluetooth

Well...while the 1700BTs stand their ground in their department, which is the one under 200Bucks, the S1000MKII decimate them easily. The Bass goes without saying, the little ones cant keep up without the now addable sub, the mids are far more consistent and without any significant drops making em much more enjoyable, while the the highs are not as bright, but still crystal clear. So if you can afford them go with the S1000MKII, if not, dont worry, the 1700BTs still deliver good sound for the buck and if needed you can add the Edifier T5 Sub for example to get more bass.

@@user-wd2qi4lg1j No not really, you just cant connect the sub directly then and need another output for it, either via 3.5mm jack or RCA to RCA to drive it, but they aswell as the BTs dont need a sub, as the bass is ok for their size and price, its purely optional with the BTs making it easier to connect one to them..

@@lawlewful ofc you can. :) I'd say, it depends on your available space and the need of bass as deep as possible and not to forget, the taste of design. if you have the space and need bass as much and as deep as possible, the 1700bts+t5 are your choice as the t5 can deliver down to 38Hz and the 1700bts sound as good as then non sub brothers. the S1000mk2 look a little nicer and can get down to 45Hz (and deliver even down to 40 with a slight dip) and save some space (while beeing alittle bigger themselfs) and sound amazing as you can hear here. so the difference in the bass department is marginal and if you dont need every little bit of bass, which in a added sub variant, would probably overwhelm a small room and kick more outside than inside, so that your neighbors have more of it than you might have...i'd go with the S1000mk2, not to mention that it saves you a few bucks in your region.

I really prefer price/performance much more. for the area, Actually my house is so big(maybe too big, cos I live alone) but the room is so small (about 10x20 ft) so no neighbors problem. the problem is... i don't know if I need a deep bass or not :/ Now I have 3 choices, -first s1000mk2 (~200usd) -second 1700bts+t5(~230usd) -and third, only 1700bts(~110usd, 1700bt and bts are same price, idk why) and save for upgrade something beyond later. my english is not that good, I'm really sorry for that.

these videos must be watched with headphones to understand the difference ...

Question though, can you not just split them into a powered subwoofer? Like the Edifier T5? They show that this seems to be possible on their website. Only downside to this I can think of is that it wouldnt work on a bluetooth, but you could always get a different bluetooth adapter and split it from there?

@@trentk5743 I think its possible, just too much hassle to make it work with all types of connections. Also, the speakers would still keep playing the lower frequencies if connected this way due to the lack of high pass filter.

@@-MarkWinston- Just did a bit of reading on it, you just feed it into the sub first, then into the speakers, and there is a high pass filter on the subs themselves.

@@trentk5743 having a filter on the sub is different than having a filter on the speaker. The filter on the speaker stops it from playing low frequencies when there is a sub attached, the filter on the sub does not help in this aspect.

@@-MarkWinston- Isnt the filter on the sub low pass, stopping the signals lower than a certian Hz from going out the output? Thus the speakers arent trying to play that sound anyways? The signal is fed to the subs first, stripped of the very low signals which the sub handles, then the speakers just handle the rest?

The S1000 is way more musical sounding. No comparison.

I have both of these in different rooms in my house. The R1700BT are excellent but the S1000Mk II is in a different much more superior league. You are talking about apples and oranges here. The same but different, with one being superior…

Where do you notice the most differences speking about the sound? Is IT like that s1000mkii sounds better on low volume in large room? Thank you for the feedback in advance!

The edifier S1000mkii are not actually very good compared to any well-reviewed passive speaker over $200. The overall balance is off and treble becomes annoying.

Найдите гдето на помойке или не знаю где,,,, sven royal 2r или sven stream mega r - ну они же почти так же будут звучать как эти приславутые мумедийные эдифаеры, только свен стоит в 3 раза дешевле.... Вы попробуйте найти бу эдифаеры за адекватную цену, да хрен там их выставляют как за новые, в чем ценность этой помойной конторы , прям ролс ройл среди рынка мумедии

@@Andrew_Nekrasov у меня дома стоят два свена, тех что написал выше) и был р2800, я бы не сказал, что они както лучше в звуке))) р2800 просто масштабнее хвучит.. Но зато в силу своей , как вы сказали "мусорности", не гудят в тишине на всю комнату как р2800 , и не пишят как говно от defender или f&d

@@back_to_life0 я тебе уже, по моему говорил, что 2800 уже без малого 10 лет. без импульсного бп и пр новых комплектующих. Те же 2750 не шипят и не гудят. Возьми те же маленькие эдифаеры из обзора к сравнению со свеном и убедишься, уже раз и на всегда в том, как маленькие эдики будут хорошо играть. Тема закрыта и хватит срать свою чушь под каждым видео

Роялы простоваты по звуку, забудьте про них. Мега по басам хороша, плотнее и мясистее звучит, чем даже Edifier R1900/R2000 модели, не говоря уж об R1700, но нет в Меге той прозрачности звука и глубины, как у Эдифаеров. Да и дизайн у Свенов морально устаревший, даже современная неплохая модель MC30 выпускается в корпусе от Меги, и с древним с виду пультом ДУ. Поэтому и деньги за Эдифаеры на вторичке просят поболее, чем за Свены, у них по всем параметрам качество повыше

Disappointed by the S1000MkII. The midrange is very poor. Sound is hollow, with the overpowering bass. No presence. It has V shape sound.
