Edible Erupting Volcano (aka doing Chloe's homework!)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
A recipe rewind back to a classic we did with Phoebe - the edible erupting volcano.... this time Phoebe helps out her younger sister Chloe's homework project! This makes an awesome DIY project for kids and it tastes good too. The rice krispies really help to make it look like a rocky terrain too. Hope you try it - big kids are allowed too ok :)

Chloe is a mini Barry, she's an absolute hoot! Phoebe seems to take after her mum with a bit more sense than Barry 😂

@@chaoszombie9995 Chloe is definitely a mini Barry and Phoebe is monotone and very subdued like their mother.
haha I remember doing my own erupting volcano in school when I was Chloe’s age - except the fact this is edible is even *better* 🤩
No one: Chloe: "since i have you as a dad" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Indeed Mr.Barry's daughter she is 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I love how Phoebe is bashful while Chloe is goofy. They really take after you and Mrs. B. Love your vids Barry. 💜💜💜
This would probably be even nicer with orange juice rather than lemon juice, get a kind of chocolate orange vibe.
Surely Chloe's teachers need to mark this, via the comments! 😁
A+ for Chloe and extra credit to Phoebe for being a great big sister!!!!! Awesome job girls!

Great video, my favourite part is Chloe. I don't know if she is aware how funny she is. Her comments crack me up every time she is in a video. Both of your daughter are you a credit to you and Mrs B. keep up the great work and good luck with your Pizzeria mate.
Oh gosh. I remember all my school projects from when I was young and how often my dad kept stepping in to "help" but he would basically do it all. Haha!

I’ve never seen an edible volcano before... so much more fun than just your standard baking soda and vinegar one! As a homeschool mom I absolutely LOVE this video... thanks for sharing!
Started watching this without my wife when I got in from work... She wasn't happy 🤣 might have to make her a mini non erupting volcano cake to make up!
Brilliant ladies. I loved assignments like these. I think i had more fun than my son did. Gr8 work gals.......
I hope the Pizza Place is a stupendously successful project.
"Girls, behind you is a massive pan" C'mon Barry im right here
lol I've just checked the kickstarter looks like your going to have to open a restaurant and a school :) Congratz mate 👍
This was about the cutest video I've seen in a while. I love that everyone was involved, it was just so wholesome! I've never done one of those volcanoes, never had to for school... I kind of feel robbed 😂
Chloe at 13:07 😂 oohhh i love her reactions soo much 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Y'all are great parents. I would be doing the same as Phoebe eating the project before it's done. The girls are so adorable. Y'all have done quite well.
That is awesome. 💜💜Phebe & Chole💓💓🌹🌹
The face Chloe made at 1:53 perfectly describes the way your hair used to look, absolutely horrifying
Well that was a blast to the past with that old vid, your hair Barry, i cant stop laughing.
'If you want, there's another one of these in the drawer so you could help us' 😂😂😂 the biggest dig I’ve ever seen
Both girls are so quick witted
Your kids must be lucky yeah you do the build the taks they kid points that's brilliant
I'm not sure if you did this already, but you should make scotcheroos (when you put the chocolate on the rice krispies, it reminded me of that). It's fairly easy to make, and they are so addicting!
I was worried about the lava....I remembered using vinegar...🤮🤭 BUT lemon juice is a great idea and yeah...dunking on that 'boulder' into the 'lava'...thanks for taking one for the team. Glad I dont have to try it..👍 I LOVE how you get the girls help you in the kitchen ❤❤❤
More giant food!! It’s so fun!
Great video, nice to see you all working together and having fun too 😘
Excellent vid mate, it was brilliant watching the kids have such a great time!!👏👏👏
I can't with chloe's sassinessss! I just love her. She needs her own series 🤣
Great video Barry this seems like so much fun
💖💖💖 love it. Makes me miss when my boys were little...
I only make a big batch of Rice Krispie treats which is a quadruple batch. Biggest box of Rice Krispies I can find and four bags of marshmallows a lot of times I'll add some extra after I've mixed in the cereal if I want marshmallow bites
I used to eat the jelly squares as well
This is so typical of school projects for younger kids. Parents end up doing the majority of it. I think thats how it works everywhere, I'm in the US and i remember doing alot of projects with my son when he was in the lower grades and i ended up doing most of it. Lol.

Great video! my son wanted to do this for his project we tried just melting some kitkats together but that didn't work then tried just using dough that didnt work its good to know its rice crispies that makes sense lol. Thanks
Love the epic music at the end,. When will you have your veg prep kit available on Amazon. I really want one
Maybe I’m the only one but I’m loving the artwork you’ve added to the walls Barry! Are they posh breakfast sandwiches?! Would love a little close up of those one of these days!

Homework was never this involved when I was a kid. Never made a volcano, thought that was just an American thing...Feel like I need to do this as an adult instead hehe.
The cynic in me on your Kickstarter video when you mentioned why choosing that platform thought it’s also a loan you have less financial risk in compared to a bank loan that would contain interest and strict payback requirements. Therefore while it is about community it’s also money you get for not equal value in return, but donating some of the profits (if any are made) is a perfect way of combating that critique especially if it goes to charities that aren’t already popular who don’t get as much from the public for good causes. Good on ya for doing all of that and trying to make rewards worth it. Even myself who doesn’t like kickstarters (usually not quality for what you get years down the line) thinks your project is a nice thing even if it fails as many restaurants do in the first few years. Thankfully after this pandemic once we get a vaccine it might be an amazing time to start. As someone that actually was planning an England trip (lived in Sheffield for years and love Yorkshire) I’ll make sure to stop by in late 20201 (vaccine pending of course).
If only my homework had been that fun. Sigh !
Need to know the teacher's reaction to this!😀
I bet theyre glad dad does giant foods for a living.
Oh man, showing old phoebe videos in a video she's appearing in, that's truly dad levels of mean 😂
I have never heard of jelly cubes, only jelly powder. I also never had to do a volcano as a project.
I loved watching little Phoebe back in the day... Barry, you really need to invest in a humongous bowl or 2.

@@lmaree200886 It's interesting and curious to see the difference in availability in different cultures. I'd get it if the local natural environment makes it easier/harder to grow certain things, but who'd have thought something as basic as instant jelly could be available in such different ways? Sometimes it's even as silly as the same supermarket chain but only in the next counties. Occasionally we'll actually do our food shopping on the way back from a day trip just for the variety, for example there's an own-branded sauce one of us likes that isn't stocked in their similarly sized sister branches within a hour's drive away (why is that? - it all comes from the same regional warehouse, surely?).
Jadyn (my 5yo son) is now insisting we make one and also that I tell the girls he says "hi" (once he realized it wasn't a video chat and the girls couldn't hear him chatting with them and introducing himself), lol.
I've never seen jelly come like that before
😊👍
I bet Chloes class mates hate you Barry 😂

Goooosh. I remember the vid with baby Phoebe. She was about two I think! What a lovely family. ❤️
Hey Barry, been watching your stuff, including barshens etc (RIP) for years. Love what you do, and it has really made me interested in cooking...one day at least. On to my topic. I am, unfortunately, a very picky eater in that I can't eat any more than the tiniest fruits or vegetables - and even that is difficult for me. I've been slowly trying to conquer it but I've struggled with it for so long I'm not even sure what to do anymore. I've often thought that cooking some simple foods mixed with fruits or vegetables might help me to get over this apparent food phobia of mine, but I have no idea where to start. Any ideas what I could make to mask or even appreciate the taste of a particular fruit or vegetable? Do you have a video or strategy you'd recommend? Hope you and the family stay well. Love from Newcastle :)

Mexican food is a good mask for a lot if you like that type of seasoning. Adding some shredded carrots into your taco beef and seasoning mixture. If you like salsa you can use it to help acclimatize to tomatoes or add other diced vegetables into the mix (more sauteed onions, carrot, bell peppers, corn- these are good add ons for the salsa or the beef mixture), if you are half ok with lettuce at all taco beef or taco chicken on top of lettuce with cheese etc is a good salad or adding extra shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sauteed onion, or strips of fresh red pepper are all excellent nacho toppings and the seasoning on the beef helps not taste them as strong as you may otherwise. Not sure if it's taste or texture for you, but if it's taste aiming for milder vegetables like courgettes, spaghetti squash, green beans, (frozen veg are sometimes milder and more predictable in flavours compared to fresh). Spaghetti squash is easy to cook in a microwave or an oven and although some have a stronger slightly nutty taste and more robust texture, you can scrap the 'noodles' out and drown them in a pasta sauce of your choosing or just simply with butter (mozzarella is also an excellent addition if going the butter root), you may want to pick the sauce depending on how you find the flavour on the spaghetti squash. The 'noodles' could also be used instead of real pasta- either fully substituted or 50/50 with pasta in a chicken or vegetable noodle soup. If it's texture that puts you off and you like smoother foods, cauliflower, carrots and parsnips can be good choices as they don't tend to be as stringy or fibrous. Cauliflower can be cooked to be much softer with additional time when steamed or in moister cooking environments(esp the top florets, the stems can be more of a crapshoot). They do have a much stronger smell and flavour though, although a garlic sauce or maybe even an alfredo or cheddar cheese sauce may be enough to help hide that for you. Cheese sauces can help cover a multitude of things while your tastes adjust. Blended soups might also be a way to help introduce tastes or textures. If you struggle with the texture even after blending straining will help take away any residual pieces if you would have a better chance with new tastes that way and finding a vegetable soup you like, maybe a potato soup as a base and slowly adding more veg to the mix), you can also try to blend it less, reserve some while blending the rest, or only blend certain ingredients in the soup if you are wanting to stock with something you know but expand what you're comfortable with a bit. I know I'm not Barry, but I hope you find some things that work for you. I know how hard food challenges can be. I have a condition that has left me on a liquid/pureed foods diet and I relate to feeling overwhelmed when you are trying to figure out different things for yourself. I wish you loads of success!
So what grade did she get? Good job girls! 😊
