Edge on how great Rey Mysterio is

Kurt Angle is a 14-time professional wrestling world champion, with titles collected in WWE, TNA, and Japan. He is in both the WWE and TNA/Impact Hall of Fames, a two-time NCAA Division 1 National Champion, and has also won a gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Games with, as he likes to say, ‘a broken freaking neck.’ At every stop in his career, Angle has reached the top of the mountain, and now he’s taking his Three I’s; Intensity, Intelligence, and Integrity, to the podcast world as he joins host Conrad Thompson to take a look back at some of the matches, feuds and moments that turned an Olympic gold medalist into one of the greatest sports entertainers of all time. It’s True. It’s damn true

I think a good example of that is Rey Fenix. He tries to emulate Rey Mysterio's style, but he pushes it too far and ends up on the injured list more often than he does actually wrestling. Rey knew just how far to push it, and that has given him the longevity to keep going even today, while I'll be surprised if Fenix is still around in 10 years. Not knocking him, when he is healthy he really is incredible to watch, but thats like a dozen matches per year, while he spends the rest of the year recovering from some insane injury.

I have to agree with Adam Copeland. Rey Mysterio doesn't get enough credit for still be at the top of his game at his age. He should've had the recognition that Taker has right now but unfortunately, Rey Rey doesn't have the character that the fans can connected to. At least Eddie Guerrero finally connects because of his "lie, cheat & steal" character.

A lot of people talk about how no one has anything bad to say about The Undertaker or Sting in interviews, but Rey is another guy that anyone I've heard talk about him not just says good things, but absolutely gushes about him. No matter what era of Rey you look at, he was always good. Again, you hear a lot about Undertaker and Sting when you talk about guys who knew when to reinvent themselves with the times, and Rey checks that box too. The style he was wrestling in the early 2000s would STILL be ahead of it's time today if he were still capable of it. He has just adapted over time to his own physical limitations, but he's never stopped being a top tier performer. His mind for wrestling is just on another level. I think he will go down in history as the greatest Luchador of all time. Like there are a lot of big name Luchadors in Mexico, but once you pull them out of Mexico, you find out how limited they are in the ring, like Sincara. You could put Rey in the ring with anybody in the world, working any style, and it will be good, if not great. he can work any style, any time period, any opponent, big, small, doesn't matter.

Rey always been my favorite in ring worker of all time period. Sometimes people laugh at me when I say Rey is best. He’s not greatest talker but make up for it with his abilities.

Rey the best high flying wrestler ever. The GOAT ❤ it’s never easy to do this for 30-35 years. I really hope wwe gives Rey mysterio a better story than the one with his son and Ripley

Rey is a hell of a wrestling entertainer but to be brutally honest he's not much of mic guy. When he gets the mic he's cheesy. Rey can't sell with his words he's more of a wrestling showman and that's fine

My only issue is how shitty he was booked in 06 the way he was performing even before eddies desth he was destined to be a main event player at some point in 2005 he was picking up steam

The only way Rey should retire is by giving his son the mask after a hard fought loss in a Hell In A Cell match. Give his son the mask just like his uncle did for him. A mask less Rey just walk off and watched Dom celebrating with the mask. Now Dom can sport a all new look.
