these are selfbuilt.
you cant simply buy it in a store.
used parts are mostly written in the title.
you dont learn to fly them in a week. it takes months/years.
researching is a constant part of this hobby.

I don't know if you have seen any other FPV videos but compared to them the flying characteristics don't look incredible. Can't say anything about the efficiency. The sound is cool though, compared to other similar prop sizes it's a low lower pitched.

Beautifully executed project. I am at the last stages of building something very very similar and I found you while waiting for the prints. Mine is 63.5mm 5 blade with optimal duct design but use case is mostly indoor slow fly throughs. I just wanted to increase efficiency but it ended up being 2 month long project and countless hours of articles to consume. What you do here on this channel is ton more impressive than what people think and I really appreciate you sharing these. Thanks again.

i asked chat-gpt about description of the parts in title result: q: qf2611 4000kv 50mm edf fettec aio 35a 4s1300 120c a: The specifications you provided refer to different components of an electric powered model aircraft or drone. Here's what each part means: QF2611: This is likely a model number or identifier for a specific brushless electric motor. 4000kv: The "kv" rating refers to the number of RPMs (revolutions per minute) that a motor will generate per volt when not under load. A 4000kv motor will generate approximately 4000 RPMs for each volt applied to it. 50mm: The size of the motor, specifically the diameter of the stator (the stationary part of the motor). EDF (Electric Ducted Fan): An electric ducted fan unit is a type of electric motor that drives a ducted fan to produce thrust. These are commonly used in electric powered model aircraft and drones. Fettec: This is a brand name or manufacturer of the electric ducted fan unit. AIO (All-In-One): This typically refers to a compact and integrated electronic speed controller (ESC) and flight controller that is designed to control the motor and manage flight functions for a model aircraft or drone. 35A: The maximum continuous current rating for the ESC. This is the maximum amount of electrical current that the ESC can handle without damage. 4S 1300: The battery pack configuration, specifically a 4-cell (4S) Lithium Polymer (LiPo) battery pack with a nominal voltage of 13.2V (4S = 4 x 3.7V) and a capacity of 1300 milliampere-hours (mAh). 120C: The maximum discharge rate of the battery pack, expressed in Celsius. A discharge rate of 120C means the battery is capable of discharging at a rate of 120 times its capacity, or 120 x 1300mAh = 156,000 milliamps.

Dude YES! It's about time someone ducted a quad. I love how everyone just threw out the decades of R&D billion dollar companies did including NASA for more efficient props back in the day and always went with open bladed drones. Especially companies claiming to be "sky Cranes". Heavy Lift Aerial Vehicles. A EDF is much more efficient, yes you lose some mobility but gain stability and higher thrust capabilities at lower RPM's. That is, if done correctly. Good on you m8. Keep it up. :D

One I saw went invisible, then visible, did a U turn that would've turned you or this quad into dust then accelerated faster than a fast rifle bullet. edit: FAA has released radar tracks showing them doing right angles at 19,000kmh. Again, this quad is nothing compared to them.

Yeah, I remember a vid of some edfs multis in the past, like this tricopter which was a cooler design because IT REMAINED FLAT (servos) kzread.info/dash/bejne/hIlrx9CkmLzVqMo.html . I also stuck in 2014 an edf on top of the quad, but it was making my quad drop 1 meter when I was switching it on, lol ! It was a cool era of people experimenting anything cool.

Clockwise and counterclockwise EDFs are the same thing. You just switched two wires to reverse the direction of rotation. Then replace the blade for the correct spin. Finding the blades is the hard part, but it's not so hard to create custom blades either.

Actually, there can be differences between CW and CCW motors...and that is the direction of the threads for the blade attachment. They will spin such that the nut will not loosen itself.
