A mecha that big would have multiple manned turrets to take on the little insects while the pilot focuses on the main target. Wonder why they didn't do that.

Because they ran out of budget for the project and scrapped the whole concept until they needed it to fight Erginus with.

Balam in EDF 4.1 isn't fully constructed and had been stored before invasion, until got mass produced just like that because Erginus can be beaten by them, with hand combat

They disables the lasers to output more power to the fists. This type kd WF Balam was made for fighting the big bois.

I love the EDF francise, good old fashioned shoot up,

at the start i was like well i think there will be a mech and then later HE CAN DEPLOY A MECH!

I can’t remember the number or name of the level, but it’s the one where you start in a canyon with your edf buds and ants start crawling down the sides and whatnot. I placed a bunch of turrets and let them do the work for me lol

now that i see the mech i'm like D: OMG SO BIG!!

Are all classes able to use Balam ? Also , is Air Raider the only one that can summon Balam ?

That's a good question. The Balam Laser Fort can use his guns (Balam Type-F can't), but they do a pitiful amount of damage and are hard to aim with.

EDF4 was the time when everybody ran around with a 100k Fencer. I think my AR reached over 60k in the end.
