I installed one of these on my 1992 Chevy thinking my fuel pump was bad. The symptoms were that the pump would primer when you turned the key to on position, but one you start the truck the no more fuel. So installed a new one of these. Same issue. I replaced the fuel pump relay switch no change. Any ideas?

I won't be doing any of this, but it was still very interesting! You sure are multi-skilled!

I'm in the process out removing a fairly new Edelbrock pump and putting on a Holley. The Edelbrock would push fuel for about 15 minutes and then quit. You would have to wait about 20 minutes then try again. I got sick of sitting on the side of the road.

So I have a 30" riding lawnmower / mini lawn tractor - looks like one of the old Snapper machines - but it's a modern MTD / Craftsman, and is only about 3 years old. Anyway - its got a Briggs 10-1/2 horse motor, and the fuel tank sits about 6 inches above the carburetor inlet. Well I'll tell ya - this one was STARVED for fuel because it relied on gravity alone for the fuel to travel from the tank to the carburetor. So, what's a guy to do when trying to feed a little 1-barrel small engine carb? Even the smallest automotive 6 PSI fuel pump would provide way too much pressure and volume that it would flood this little tiny carb. The solution was this Holley / Edelbrock magnetic fuel pump. Both brands are made by the same overseas company and white-labeled for Holley and Edelbrock, respectively. They come in two sizes, a "2 to 3 PSI" and a "5 to 7 PSI" (or thereabout, I forget exactly). Anyway - I did my homework on it, and last year I bought the Holley one simply because it was $10 cheaper than the Edelbrock on the old inter-webs. Pump works like a champ, lawnmower / tractor runs like a scalded dog now. Has more guts than it ever did. Actually scares me a little now (it jumps up and moves a little too quick for me).

@@vincespinelli6476 the problem I was having with the edlebrock is that the pump would overheat and stop running. It might have just been defective but when I researched it, it seemed like a lot of people were having the same problem. I had a good syphon going from the tank to the pump so it shouldn't have been overworking the pump. The Holley pump seems to be working good so far.

So, my 350 Chevy has an Edelbrock mechanical fuel pump. I recently removed the tank and had it acid dipped and treated. Now I'm getting fuel it seems to the fuel pump, but it won't come through the other side for some reason. This might be my solution. It seemed to work before I treated the tank. But it hasn't run for a few years. I hope I'm not pumping gasoline into the crankcase. I haven't run it yet so if it is leaking into the crankcase, it hasn't done any damage yet. Emphasize the word yet.

I had the same gauge on my wagon race car.It just had summit label on it.I mounted it just inside the hood near the windshield on the drivers side.It was visible inside the car.I used to run no more than 7 pounds of pressure,or I could blow the seats out in the holly carburetor.In fact going by memory I ran it at 6 pounds.But I had a huge cam and headers and and big carb with a mallory 150 gph pump.I think the carb was 750 cfm.The engine was 400 cubic inch.You dont need anymore than 4 or 5 pounds on a stock engine.So your good to go.

No I eliminated the original fuel pump when I went from fuel injection to a carb,

Is it better to use type S or N mortar for this job???

Hello Mike, I hope you are well, I wanted to ask you if I can place this pump in a circuit that originally comes from the factory with a return to the tank, I currently have a mechanical pump, everything works fine, but the diaphragms or seals of these pumps dry out, causing them to fail My idea is to place the Edelbrock pump under the tank similar to how you have placed it, since I have a place just under the passenger seat to place it, will it work well? In any case, the return will return the excess flow to the tank. Have you tried it in another vehicle with a return to the tank?

Hi, I hooked it up to where it went into the gas tank so it operated with my key switch just as the high pressure did

How u got the red wire hook up ok the electric pump

I have this pump I have it set to igtion switch so today I was working on my g body 84 cutlass window motor with the switch moved to the on position and the pump running with the car off won’t flood a thing but I did burn it out and had to replace it today do not let ur pump run with the car on for any amount of time

Always treat any electric fuel pump as a high load device, use a fuse and relay for its switched +12v power. Use an oil pressure switch(not sending unit) in conjuction with the relay, so the only time the pump is active is when the engine is running.

I’m on my 3rd one. Piece of junk.
