    I think this was the better show tbh. Thor lost to himself in 2016 with his mistake on the car walk, if he'd even made mid table he'd have won that year whereas this one was a close battle right until the end. Both great shows and Loz was a tank in 2016 but this was a great showing from both Thor and Eddie.

He competed against a young Zydrunas who was nowhere near his prime (his prime was in 2014-2016), in 2009 when IFSA was no more Zydrunas beat him easily and he left. If you're counting trophies then consider that Mariusz was never even able to get better than 4th place at the Arnold, it was a heavy show. Also consider Thor had the most dominant year any strongman has ever had in the sport. Every win is circumstantial. Magnus Ver has a way better record at WSM than Brian Shaw, yet Brian's still stronger. Compare the abilities. Thor in his short prime is the highest calibre of strongman there has ever been. For the longest time he was only faster and more explosive than Brian but in 2017-2018 he surpassed Brian in static strength and was better than Brian everywhere. He's faster, more explosive, stronger everywhere. Where exactly is Brian better after Thor surpassed him in static strength?

  • @RageDaug

    @RageDaug

    Thor thought Magnus (the judge) cheated him on a pressing event where a couple reps weren't counted. If those reps counted, Thor would have theoretically beat Hall on the event which would have led to more overall points which would have won him WSM. So Thor was pissed at Magnus as he thought Magnus cheated him out of the title. Eddy points out (to which I concur) that Eddy could still have performed another rep or two even if Magnus counted all of Thor's reps, so at the end of the day, it likely didn't matter that the reps weren't counted. Eddy lifted after Thor and stopped once he won the event, while still having some gas in the tank. So when Eddy won, Thor shook his hand, but because Thor was still under the impression that Magnus cheated him, Thor wasn't super excited and all giddy for Eddy, and Eddy got pissed that Thor wasn't more happy for him, and Eddy has hated Thor for that ever since. Best I can tell, the hatred only goes one way. Thor wasn't mad at Eddy that day, and he honestly just seems confused when people talk about how much big of a problem there is between him and Eddy. Feels like Eddy looked up to Thor as a big brother/hero and was looking for validation & pride from Thor when he won. And when he didn't get it, it completely soured his feelings and relationship with Thor. Best guess I can figure.

    Actually the big 3 static events favour been shorter (deadlift, bench, squat). Events with platforms or throws favour the taller men. That's why Eddie always put his main efforts into the press, squat and deadlift. If you watch Brian and Thor squatting against Eddie you can easily see how much harder it is for them (2017 WSM).

    @@MrSnakekaplan oh absolutely. I get that proportions will aid certain lifts (longer arms being good for deadlift but not bench press). But I think that bodyweight plays a HUGE part in strength. @@sus_beatz8559 Nah man, Eddie was always heavier than Thor (you can even see it on the stats in this video). Literally Brian was the only successful strongman heavier than Eddie (Eddie even made a video about it). Deadlift is also better for shorter people. First of all, if your height and arm length match, then you still gain half the arm length increase because its split between 2 arms. Assuming you haven't noticed but Thor and Brian both actually use a different technique to Eddie because their height makes it impossible to keep up. You'll also note that Eddie is always praised for his explosive starts. All 3 are mechanically advantaged to shorter people. It's not an opinion, it's a well known fact in the powerlifting/strongman world.

Why do you seek to kill Me?” 20 The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who seeks to kill You?” John 7: 37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
