Eddie is an OG. Absolutely incredible talent 🔥🔥

His passion for comedy & his drive to improve, his comedic brilliance, not having other marketing skills readily available and his perseverance made him, in my opinion, achieve initial success. He attained even greater success because he had osmosis which is learning ability and he had intelligence. Other requirements too. He had ENERGY and he had some unpleasant experiences that he didn't want to suffer through ever again. Still more though. He knew how to relate to people and he had LIKEABILITY which allowed him to establish connections. Yet, none of those requirements are good enough with GREAT MATERIAL. Even so, without being able to deliver material he would have struggled. And, wow, he really delivered. Some say that the timing of SNL was important. And maybe it was. SNL struggled apparently from, say, 1980-1984, but Eddie Murphy seemed to have "revived" the show. Who can forget those characters that he played that captivated audiences. Mr. Robinson, Gumby, the tooth fairy and he had impressions of Ali & Stevie Wonder. I adore Eddie Murphy for many reasons. Actually I put him up on a pedestal and maybe I shouldn't. He's so modest too. What I like most is that he's hilarious AND that he is GENUINE. He gives these CANDID interviews that I find refreshing. He's probably one in a billion. Maybe that's stretching the number, yet that is just how awesome he is. Anyway. Just my perspectives. And my opinions.
