Disney basically made the history2 channel into that... I was there long before... I helped build the network... and sadly, it's not the same since Fox & especially Disney put 400 million into it... Even Shane admit and Gavin (both the creators of Vice) that they sold out for the checks... at least they are honest about it now. It was fun in the vbsTV days... real journalists taking risks... now it's as bias as National Geographic and basically the same group of 'reporters'

I'll never forget stumbling onto vice many years ago on youtube and it was some of the craziest stuff I'd ever seen. The middle eastern dude with the glasses was down for whatever and would be visiting a local gun smith in Iraq, swing by and have tea with the taliban and later in the evening go kick it with the homies and shoot wild coyote around military bases. I mean it was just bonkers.

I remember when I used to get excited about a Vice doc. Those were the days.

God I loved old school Vice. They went to crazy places, did very interesting stories, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone. ... that Vice is dead.

Old Vice was generally great, and the first run of Viceland was great. They occasionally put out a few good docs and shows but generally suck now. Even their website reporting is bad 90% of the time.

I lived in my Gma's basement and watched Viceland from 2015-2018 and that was good times for Vice. Honestly sad it turned into what it did.

Man starting age of Vice was best hands down. All types of documentaries, food shows, inside war zones. Good old tomes

I stopped going to school around the time vice was jumping … used to stay home and binge watch it . best believe I’ve learned way more watching vice than being in school for 8 hours moving the same pace as everyone else

Man… Vice used to be such a good platform for real no nonsense journalism, they showed us things we just didn’t believe because it sounded so bizarre. And then they just shot footage from the very thing itself, really cool

Vice going into NK and somehow managing to film is legendary.

I will admit there is still some hidden gems on vice. Some of their independent journalists who just listener stuff and collect a check from working with them but are not their employees. I’ve seen some in the past 2 years that have at least made me pay attention to their content again. Also, 1 star reviews is the God tier

Best thing vice ever made was Russian Roulette from 2014. The series is available on their channel. Gives an extremely good history of the situation in Ukraine.

I’ll always have love for Vice. The funny thing is depending on who you talk to they’ll all tell you different times they thought it peaked and each one will have valid arguments. It might not be what it once was but it’s still a better world to have Vice around than not.
