He lost to a European level/fringe level fighter in John Ryder. Also he gave a piss poor performance against Canelo. So to me, where did the hype in Callum knocking out Beterbiev come from.

Those backing Bivol need to understand something. Beterbiev came through the Russian system. His amateur record is 295-5. He fought / sparred guys with Bivol's style before breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Beterbiev is too familiar with that style and it will not be a very difficult fight for him. Yes, Bivol is a special fighter but unfortunately he doesn't have the punching power to keep Beterbiev at a distance. Add to that the fact that Beterbiev is very very familiar with the style. In other words, the fight is 90:10 is favor of Beterbiev. Do not put any money on Bivol. Thank me later.

I agree that Bivol won’t have the power to keep beterbiev from pressuring him but the reason he’s so heavy handed probably has a lot to do with how strong the guy is, he has thick bone density which also is accumulated from heavy lifting and is apparent when he’s throwing normal looking punches and backing guys up

IDK man, Bivol has an absolutely masterful jab, it's better than Beterbiev's definitely because he uses it more frequently and times it so perfectly, also Bivol's Boxing IQ is The Best in The World right now in my opinion, he literslly made Canelo look flat footed and toothless (which clearly is a statement!) . . . 😐 Styles Make Fights though, but to win that one Beterbiev has to hope that his Power Shots and Volume Punching can get to Bivol inside the 12 round distance or he'll definitely lose widely to Bivol on points. I just can't imagine Beterbiev landing enough on Bivol to actually succeed in stopping him like all the rest of Beterbievs previous victims. Bivol's control of distance and his control of how the action is allowed to play out is just too good plus his footwork is great too, he literally dictates what his opponent can do by leading and controlling them with the jab and subtle movements and in the process he often makes opponents look Terribly Ineffective . . . I could easily be wrong here though! Artur has serious power, good hand speed and hardly telegraphs his punches at all when fighting in range at close quarters so it's really hard to know how to fight him because he picks and chooses the spots to unload and does so with a great variety of short power shots from all angles. The deciding factor will probably be whether Beterbiev can successfully stalk Bivol, cut off the ring and close distance often enough to actually do the damage needed within range, I doubt it tbh.

If Smith is still wanting to be active, there are plenty of fights out there for him. if he could move back down to 168, he can face Benavidez, Jermall Charlo, Caleb Plant, David Morrell Jr, Jaime Munguia, Edgar Berlanga, etc.

The gameplan - dent Beterbiev early at mid range, thereby win his respect and keep him back - was demented. Eddie is still repeating it here! The only way to stand a chance against Beterbiev is constant movement, and it will require incredible cardio. The only person that has beaten him throughout is career is Usyk. Bivol obviously has a chance.

Them Russians take “vitamins” their whole life through puberty and what not. If your on vitamins while your lungs are developing etc it will surely have an effect later in life. Give the guy credit, He’s a pressure fighter and doesn’t move around at a high pace so why would he get overly tired the fight was won on strength, pressure and power ? he caught most of the punches smith threw on the gloves and wasn’t hit with anything to fatigue him. He looked more tired in the Yarde fight because yarde landed punches and had him moving a lot more, Callum smith felt the power early and realised he was way out of his depth there’s levels
