I wanna hear the flight attendant and fellow passengers side-interview play by play as well. I would dive as excruciatingly deep (no pun intended but lol) into his storytelling as humanly possible. He’s had so many high intensity conversations and i love the way he recounts them with starkness and humor.

Just noticed. He's been diving so much that it is ingrained in his breathing rythm. When he tells the whole story he takes deep breaths and thenas he speaks he exhales out with exactly the same calmness and rythm you do underwater when diving.

Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. Absolutely. I would say together with the two British divers Rick Stanton and John Volanthen (the two guys who found the lost Thai youth football team in the flooded cave and also made the furthest cave dive in history) and the sadly passed Australian Dave Shaw probably the most experienced cave rescue diver. That type of human is so rare. You have to be so calm in the most stressful, claustrophobic and dangerous situations... plus these dudes have so much experience, that even many NAVY Seals divers / military divers won't be able to do the stuff they're able to do. Rick Stanton and John Volanthen also build their own rebreathers that are much more capable compared to anything you can buy. Amazing type of people... could watch videos like that / listening to those guys for hours. I'm just a normal scuba diver, never dove a cave... but I still love watching this stuff.

After watching lots of cave diving videos, cave diving disaster videos, and cave diving rescue videos, I'm convinced Edd Sorenson is the only person in the world who is qualified to actually cave dive. Other experts say something can't be done or die in the process, Edd pulls it off.

I just found out about him today. I watched the Tennessee rescue he did, Absolute Legend, Got to be some Divine Intervention going on there or something. He is a Angel with a tank on his back.. Now I'm going to look around KZread for more stories about him. I agree w you, Netflix dropped the ball not doing a series on Ed.. Have a Blessed Day my friend.

Harrison okeefe’s story just amazes me. Imagine 96 feet down in an upside down tugboat and he survives 3 days. Just amazing!

Hello ! May Allah protect and guide you to his light and happiness in this life and the hereafter, God bless, Ameen. Excuse me for giving a little presentation of Islam, because it is very misunderstood nowadays, especially on those « Antichrist's » times, where media and politics are mixed to distort history and truth. And terrorists (puppets of the Antichrist) who misinterpret verses, out of ignorance and political motivations, and take them out of historical context (just like radical atheists do by the way), don't help either. Thank you very much for your time. Islam is an arabic word that means the Surrender to the One and Only God, our Creator, Protector, Provider, who gives us life and all that we have, we are safe and sound by his will and grace, we are His and to Him we return, and we have to thank him in this trial life by submitting to him by our free will, or later in the Day of judgment when it's too late to save our own skin. Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. This is the salt of the earth kind of guy here. He comes across to me as very ‘cut to the chase’ Dudes like this are cut from a different cloth. He completely launched a major logistical operation simply to get where he was needed, then risks his life to help this stranger to which the only thing they have in common is diving. Hope he has a cozy place in the afterlife. He deserves it

@@primalcrittersyou know what it sounds like some ignorant Americans, who never watch or listen to anything from someone with a different accent, accents aren’t difficult if you’re actively listening. He also embellishes his stories and adds this false information, I highly doubt that the Diver’s mates were asking him if he got scared, after they rescued the Thai children, accidents happen to anyone, he is a fool to think it can’t happen to him. All the Humble bragging, he is full of it.

I've watched this story several times on Dive Talk. I love this story and I love listening to Edd. This video is even longer and more detailed, so I will be watching it again and again on here, now. Just watched it on dive talk

Quite frankly I’d be absolutely elated if I got myself into a situation like this and knew that Ed was the person who was coming to rescue me!! That’s all I’d be praying for would be to see Ed’s head break through the surface of the water honestly. Or if the worst case was to happen, I’d die knowing that one way or another Ed would find a way get me back to my family!!. Man’s a living freaking legend in my humble opinion!! 👏🏼🙌🏼 Stay safe out there Ed!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Islam was the original Religion descended to earth from heaven with Adam and Eve (peace and blessing be upon them) in the beginning of humanity. and was passed to people with the succession of the 124 000 prophets and 315 messengers of God to all nations and civilizations since, passing by Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Ismaël, Joseph, Moses, Aaron, Joshua, David, Solomon and Jesus (Peace and blessing be upon them) during the history of mankind, the last replaces and completes the previous, until the succession of the last messenger of God fourteen centuries ago, Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him) to complete the noble morals of all mankind, to bring humans and jinns out of darkness into light, and to purify people's religion and belief from corruption and polytheism, and return it to purity and true monotheism, like it was in the times of the prophets (Peace and blessing be upon them). Many Religions that we know nowadays, at their beginning were true and under Islam, initiated by one of the prophets of God, but their original teachings, history and scriptures have been corrupted over time with falsification and polytheism, or lost and replaced with false ones. That's why Islam is the only Religion accepted by God nowadays, which consists in bearing witness that there is no god besides Allah (God in Aramaic, the original language of Jesus and the Gospel), and that Muhammad is His servant and messenger, just like Jesus and Moses and others are His servants and messengers. Never a messenger of God said he was God or literally son of God, it was the people after him who changed the words of God and corrupted the Religion. God is unique and absolute, He does not need to have a family and sons or to associate anyone else with His kingdom, He can simply create whatever He wants, everything belongs to Him, and to Him everything will return. Allah said in Surah Al-Mu’minun : “God has never begotten a son, nor is there any god besides Him. Otherwise, each god would have taken away what it has created, and some of them would have gained supremacy over others. Glory be to God, far beyond what they describe. The Knower of the hidden and the manifest. He is exalted, far above what they associate. (91-92 / Translated by ITANI). Allah means the one and only God, the God of all prophets and creatures, the creator of the universe and mankind, and the Master of the Day of judgment, where our destiny, Hell or Paradise, is decided based on our faith and deeds in this trial life, and above all, Allah's mercy. Allah said in Surah Al-Ikhlas : In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful. Say, “He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.” (1-4 / Translated by ITANI). Allah said in Surah An-Nisa : O FOLLOWERS of the Gospel! Do not overstep the bounds [of truth] in your religious beliefs, and do not say of God anything but the truth. The Christ Jesus, son of Mary, was but God's Apostle - [the fulfilment of] His promise which He had conveyed unto Mary - and a soul created by Him. Believe, then, in God and His apostles, and do not say, "[God is] a trinity". Desist [from this assertion] for your own good. God is but One God; utterly remote is He, in His glory, from having a son: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and none is as worthy of trust as God. Never did the Christ feel too proud to be God's servant, nor do the angels who are near unto Him. And those who feel too proud to serve Him and glory in their arrogance [should know that on Judgment Day] He will gather them all unto Himself: (171-172 / Translated by Muhammad Asad). Allah the Most Merciful said in Surah Ali-Imran : Behold, the only [true] religion in the sight of God is [man's] self-surrender unto Him; and those who were vouchsafed revelation aforetime took, out of mutual jealousy, to divergent views [on this point] only after knowledge [thereof] had come unto them. But as for him who denies the truth of God's messages - behold, God is swift in reckoning! Thus, [O Prophet,] if they argue with thee, say, "I have surrendered my whole being unto God, and [so have] all who follow me!" - and ask those who have been vouchsafed revelation aforetime, as well as all unlettered people, "Have you [too] surrendered yourselves unto Him?" And if they surrender themselves unto Him, they are on the right path; but if they turn away - behold, thy duty is no more than to deliver the message: for God sees all that is in [the hearts of] His creatures. Verily, as for those who deny the truth of God's messages, and slay the prophets against all right, and slay people who enjoin equity - announce unto them a grievous chastisement. I’ve said this here before but, Edd is one cool dude, I could listen to his stories all day.

Do you realize how popular a series where he tells the stories of each of his rescues would be? The stories of, I believe, 3 of his rescues can be found on KZread, but he’s got how many under his belt now? I watch and re-watch what’s out there already just to see Edd tell the story.

The only thing that E Sorenson is better at than cave diving is story telling.... Ed is one elluva great story teller. Thanks for sharing.

Really didn’t think I’d watch 30m of this but I just kept getting more sucked into it. Such a good story told but such a great story teller. Mad props. Glad I finished it.

They call it that because you are surrounded by the notorious, infamous, legendary Florida Man at all times when in Florida. Heaven is always just down the hall.

Truly an inspiration... I send people to scour YT for Edd all the time, so they can finally understand what it's like to listen to a man who has found his calling. I don't know if the terms "Loves what he does" would be the right way to put it, but Edd's truly a passionate storyteller BECAUSE this is what he's meant to do. I'd listen to his stories over and over... hell... I HAVE listened to them over and over, and I will continue to listen to them over and over. Edd and his stories just never get too old! Thanks EDD for doing what you do... AND thanks for letting us see that there are still people who are just meant to do what they do for the rest of us. ;o)

@@artboy789 That's awesome. I'm stuck with a slightly better than passing interest in a LOT of things but nothing fits as a "calling"... I know when I see that phenomenon, but I'll probably never really experience it... Things are fun when they're fun... and largely there's a lot to every job that just sucks... BUT it's what pays the bills... haha ;o)

Edd could read a traffic report and I would listen. I would love a channel with Edd stories. A truly Great Man.

Heard a lot about this guy and watched another rescue he did but this is the first I actually saw the legend speaking and telling the story and sure enuff he's about as likable and normal as I'd have him if I made him up. Hell of a guy Ed, thank you.

I think the reason he does not do this is because when somebody calls Edd it's because something horrendous has happened. If he told all of his stories I don't think anyone would want to learn how to cave dive. Maybe even existing cave divers would give up. He wants people to learn how to cave dive safely and responsibly not to run away screaming from the sport lol :)

I will watch Ed tell any story for any length of time. He could tell me about a grilled cheese he made for an hour straight and it'd be riveting.

I bet that's Merritts Mill pond behind him. Beautiful place, all around Marianna FL exists majestical springs. Really anywhere from there to the east and all the way down south to near Orlando is loaded with them. I go every year and find a new one to swim and explore. So much funner than the beach.

Watched a few of these interviews, and the more I hear about cave diving the more I want to never lose sight of the sky ever again. 😄

Please more of Edd's stories please if he is okay sharing them. Edd's experience in overhead environment diving as well as his story telling, gives me a great insight into cave diving.

Edd reminds me a lot of my late dive instructor, who was the best diver / instructor I ever personally knew.

Personally as a cave diver, Ed Sorenson and many others are legends, but not many stand up to Ed. Please don’t think I am taking away from all the other legends out there. To few and unspoken. The unsung heroes
